I am the rudder of the East!
Mine are the twin faces of majesty wherein his rays are seen.
I am the Lord of Resurrection: I am the Mighty One that cometh forth from the darkness, and my birth is from the House of Death.
Hail! ye twin Hawks upon your pinnacles, that keep watch upon the Universe!
Ye that company the Bier to the House of Rest, even to the hidden House, ye that lead forth Ra, that follow unto the Shrine of the celestial heights!
Hail unto the Lord of the Shrine of the Pivot of Earth!

Behold! He is in me and I in Him!
Mine is the radiance of crystal, wherein Ptah floateth over his firmament.
I am Ra the glad, Ra content in the law of the beautiful day, in the beautiful law of the day. I have entered into Annu by the Gate of Khemmennu: I come forth into the East, and the divine ones cry aloud for joy at my coming.
The roads are glad for me and the paths are broad as I pass from the earth to the heaven!
Send forth thy light, 0 soul unknown and inscrutable! Thou who dost retire before the noise of the feet of men and Gods, send forth thy light! for I shall enter in, and the divine speech of Tuat is mine also.
I have escaped from him whose divine eyes close at eventide, when he is gathered together, and the day finisheth in night.
I am strong. I am strong. I come forth like one who forceth his way through a gate, and the radiance which my heart hath made shall endure for ever.
I rise as the Lord of Life through the beautiful law of the day.
I make a way through the horns of the adversary, among the strong ones, among the secret foeman, among those who grovel upon their bellies in the dust.

Hail, O An-Kert, who hidest thy companion in thy womb!
Hail, Khephra, self-created!
Grant that the dead man Ankh-f-n-khonsu may come forth with victory to behold the Disk, and that he may journey forth to see the Great and Inscrutable God, who dwelleth in the Infinite.
Let him journey in peace! Let him pass over the heaven of Nu! Let him adore the radiance of the splendour of sight!
Let him soar like a bird to see the companies of the Khus that are in the presence of Ra day by day!
Hail, Hemti! Hail, Hemti, thou swift one, conductor of the shades of the dead! Grant unto me an enduring road into the Tuat: lest the rays of the soul be scattered among the larvee of the dead.
The pregnant Goddess hath set down her burden upon the earth.
The door that was closed is cast down! I rejoice in the straightness of the way.
Happy, yea! happy, happy is he that hath looked upon the bier in its going forth unto the house of rest! For the heart of the God is at peace, and he maketh therein his holy habitation.

I have risen, I have risen as a mighty hawk of gold: from the Egg of Gold am I come forth.
I fly and I alight as an hawk of cubits four: of Mother-of-emerald are my mighty-sweeping wings.
I have come from the heart of the Sekret boat: I have set up my throne upon the Atet boat.
Then the companies of the Khus did follow me: the dwellers of night also did adore me!
With gladness did they cry aloud as they bowed low before me: their homage was sweet in mine ears.
I have risen! I have gathered myself together as a beautiful Hawk of Gold.
My head is the head of the Bennu bird, and Ra hearkeneth unto my voice Yea! Yea! Yea! Yea! Yea! Yea! Yea! Yea! Yea! Yea! Yea! I am enthroned as the first-born child of Nuit.
For I am come forth to see him that dwelleth in his divine Urxus, face to face and eye to eye, and I draw in the breath of his forth-coming.
Mine eyes are weak with the sight of thy glory, 0 thou Lion-God, thou Babe in the Egg of Blue!
Yet my form is the form of Khephra: my locks flow down as the locks of the earth before Tum, the locks of the earth before Tum!
I have entered in as a Fool, and I come forth as a mighty Khu, and my form is the form of men and of women for ever and ever.

Before the Gteat God, the dtead Lord of the West!
For I fastened the one to the other
With a spell for their mystical girth,
The Earth and the wonderful West,
When I flourished, 0 Earth, on thy breast!

Saith with his voice of truth and calm: O thou who hast a single arm!
O thou that glitterest in the moon!
I weave thee in the spinning charm!
I lure thee with the billowy tune.
The dead man Ankh-f-n-khonsu
Hath parted from the darkling crowds;
Hath joined the dwellers of the Light,
Opening Duant, the star-abodes,
Their keys receiving.
The dead man Ankh-f-n-khonsu
Hath made his passage into night
His pleasure on the earth to do
Among the living.
