Introduction

A variety of abnormal growths (tumors) can develop throughout the digestive system, from the esophagus to the anus, as well as in the liver (see Section 10, Chapter 139), gallbladder (see Section 10, Chapter 140), and pancreas. Some of these tumors are noncancerous (benign); others are cancerous (malignant).
