serape (n.)

also sarape, type of shawl for men, 1834, from Mexican Spanish sarape, probably from an indigenous Mexican language, but there is no similar word and no -r- sound in Nahuatl. David L. Gold ("Studies in Etymology and Etiology," 2009) suggests possibly from Tarascan /'charakwa/.
