This is a Spanish - English, English - Spanish dictionary midlet by Elephant software Instructions The right softkey switches between English and Spanish and the left softkey exits. Use Keys 2 - 9 to enter search text via multi-tap (the ñ is by pressing "6" 4 times). The 0 key changes font size. The 1 key is help (you probably figured that out by yourself ;)) You can do cross reference searching when viewing an entry: press the right arrow key, move the cursor under the word you want to look up, then press fire and it will search for the word. This is not a consise dictionary, nor a "mini dictionary". It's the full shebang, comprising of about 100,000 comprehensive entries. Phones supported Should work on any Sony Ericsson as long as you have 8mb free space. In theory it should work on other phone brands, but many seem to have trouble with the large jar size... you can try it out anyways. Bugs Exporting the data from the origonal source was a bit tricky. I had to use a macro recorder. There's about a dozen missing entries (for instance, welly, pitta bread and ño, don't remember the other ones). Also, you will notice some very large entries are cropped. Only the first 6000 characters of the entry could be exported. Luckily enough there aren't that many entries greater than 6k. About the software I wrote this midlet because, a) I had far too much free time on my hands, b) They is no full size Spanish English dictionary currently on the market and it doesn't look like anyone is going to make one any time soon. So the only solution is to do it myself. (Ok, there are mini-dictionaries available, but they really are a joke compared to a full version dictionary) c) The power of having a complete reference like this in your pocket just can't be underestimated. The definition of practically every Spanish and English word in existance is in there and can be searched faster than looking up in a real dictionary. **** This is free software ************ Feel free to share this program Changelog 1.2 9 Dec 2008: Fixed some nasty bugs that in 1.1 that somehow slipped through quality control :-O New feature: Cross reference searching 1.1 1 Sept 2008: made startup time faster improved portablility
