Senator Barry M. Goldwater at Kennedy Space Center on Moon Shot Day!
The date of July 16, 1969 was the day of the launch of Apollo 11 and
the initial kick-off for the first landing of the human race on our
neighbor, the moon. The global importance of this major historic
event was very evident at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida. It was
Moon Shot Day! Many famous people from all over the world gathered
in the VIP launch viewing area near the Apollo LCC (Launch Control
Center). The security was at its highest level with VIP guests
present from every nation on earth.
One guest was in attendance whom
I had supported during his political career, Senator Barry M.
Goldwater of Arizona. He had been the Republican Presidential
candidate in 1964 running against President Lyndon B. Johnson. He
had lost by a wide margin, but, we in Florida had delivered him a
victory in Brevard County, Florida and the Space Port area and pride
in ourselves regarding that minor accomplishment. In 1968, Goldwater
won back his Senatorial seat in Arizona.
Senator Barry M. Goldwater was a former Major General in the United
States Army Air Corp wanting to be a fighter pilot of a P-47
Thunderbolt and/or a P-51 Mustang aircraft, but was assigned to
deliver various aircraft to combat areas. He had flown an estimated
160 plus other planes during his WW II and civilian years. I was
also informed that he had been checked-out in an SR-71 Blackbird.
That was VERY impressive to learn.
Being a registered Democrat supporting a Republican candidate in
Florida did not gain me any favor through my lifelong political
party in Florida. I constantly lived with insults and jokes which
supplemented my involvement in UFO research. McCleland has always
been a maverick.
During the long countdown of the Saturn V Apollo 11 launch vehicle,
I took a breakfast break from the LCC and walked to the nearby VIP
guest viewing site in hopes of meeting Senator Goldwater. As I
scanned the numerous people gathered, I asked one of our security
guards if he was aware of the location of Goldwater?
He pointed his
finger to an open field nearby saying,
"Do you see that guy over
there setting up his camera tripod, Mac? That's Senator Goldwater".
I had my camera around my neck in hopes of having a photo
opportunity with the Senator. I strolled across the crab grass turf
as he was setting up his personal camera. I was surprised he was
alone except for a half dozen other guests that were nearby also
setting up their cameras. I introduced myself and he responded with
a polite greeting. He asked if I was a guest in the VIP area. I
chuckled a bit and said, no sir, I am not yet a VIP. He smiled, and
said, yes, I know how you feel. I had the same experience in the
past. We talked about his earlier effort to gain the Presidency and
I told him about my personal efforts in Brevard County.
He thanked
me saying at least he had won here in the Cape area.
I seriously pondered my next question concerning UFOs and finally
asked him if he would discuss the subject with me? I was surprised
he had no Secret Service Agents or NASA Public Affairs personnel
hovering around him. I explained my position at KSC and my being the
NICAP Unit-3 Director for Major Donald E. Keyhoe at KSC. He had met
Keyhoe in DC years before. He approved our discussion on the UFO
subject and we began our exchange of information. I began by saying
it was obvious he had a deep abiding interest in UFOs and possible
visits of alien races to earth.
He said,
"That is accepted fact in
Washington and especially at the Pentagon, young man."
I had some
understanding of his alleged statements regarding UFOs in the past
and brought up the popular story of his effort to gain entry into a
special storage area at Wright-Patterson AFB that purportedly had
alien artifacts in it.
He said,
"Yes, that's the main event
concerning me and UFOs. I was under the impression that a US Senator
with a past as a Major General in the US Army Air Corp and a member
of the US Senate Select Committee on Intelligence for many years
would carry some weight in my allowances to enter such an area of
military secrecy. I was rudely awakened to reality very swiftly when
I was denied passage. It had me angry enough to discuss it with a
personal friend of mine in the military and inquired why my position
in the US Senate had no such allowance?
My friend, General Curtis LeMay, Chairman of the Military Joint Chiefs of Staff at the
Pentagon VERY angrily told me that I had no need to know. He gave me
a lot of HELL about my activities at Wright-Patterson. He threatened
to end our friendship for life! My God, Mac, that surprised the hell
out of me."
LeMay added,
"you stay clear of our mutual friend,
"Butch", too. ( meaning General William "Butch" Blanchard) his
having been at Roswell (later Walker) Army Air base and the 509Th.,
will not gain you any favor for knowledge of that Roswell crash
claim."
Goldwater said,
"Mac, Butch Blanchard was also a very valued
friend of mine since WWII. He was the person who announced that a
disc had crashed near Roswell in 1947. This cussing out did awaken
me to one fact, that the UFO situation is the highest level of
national secrecy. Much higher than the H-Bomb was and more than
anything else that is known within the Pentagon, FBI, CIA, DIA, NSA,
etc.
That is, nothing is higher security than aliens being here on
this planet. Then I realized Curtis was correct. And I never again
approached him on the subject. That seemed to prove to me that UFOs
were a fact, and do exist. But, are they all aliens? I highly
suspect a majority are! Hell, they are no doubt far ahead of our
level of intelligence. TheUnited States Air Foce knows the truth,
but will they ever reveal it to this nation?"
I quickly said,
"Yes,
Senator, some UFOs sighted I have learned through the ONI are
alien".
His eyes brightened up and showed surprise saying,
"Mac how
would you know that as a fact and I was denied the truth?"
I said "Senator, I was here, at KSC, and had also been at Cape Canaveral
since the start of our national space program. With all due respect
for your great accomplishments, sir, you were not. I've heard and
seen things that without any doubt, proved to me that UFO's and star races exist."
I said,
"Congress is not made aware of secrets of this caliber. The
Pentagon controls such disclosures".
He stared at me, then said:
"Yes, I get your point. You were and are on the cutting edge of
Technology Mac. Hell, you have seen events I can only dream about".
I replied, "Yes, sir, more than you know!"
I then tested the Senator with another question. I asked him if he
was at that time aware of the fact that several former German
Scientists were assigned to Wright Field?
He said,
"No, Mac, I was
not".
Then, one of the nearby launch viewers came close to our
location and I stopped the discussion. The man wanted to say hello
and shake the hand of Senator Goldwater.
Following his departure, I
continued, saying,
"Those Germans were at Wright since post-WWII and
assigned to
reverse engineer certain retrieved hardware that was
suspected to be of alien origin. They accomplished that assignment
of the object that crashed in Kecksburg, Pennsylvania. It was taken
to Wright Field."
Senator Goldwater said,
"Yes, I recall that
incident. What was it? Do you know?"
I replied,
"Yes, sir, it was a
Soviet failed mission to Venus in 1965. It was not alien, Senator.
The public was lead to believe it was a UFO. Far easier to explain
than a missile from the USSR hitting within the USA".
Goldwater
agreed.
Goldwater asked if I was aware of who the Germans were? I replied,
"Yes, one was Siegfried Knemeyer, the former head of the German RLM
(The Reichsluftfahrtministerium), the Third Reich's Air Ministry
for aircraft development for the Luftwaffe. He died in 1979 in the
USA. Another was Dr. Hans Amtmann, an expert in vertical take off
aircraft. One other I am familiar is Dr. Alexander Lippisch who was
more so well known and a pioneer in tailless aircraft, the US Delta
wing fighter, the F-102A Delta Dagger and an advanced design of a
ground effect flying boat. I'm almost certain these men also did a
reverse engineering on the object that crashed near Roswell, New
Mexico".
I could see that what I was telling the Senator may have
had his mind in a spin. So, I slowed down.
He said,
"Mac, what are
you doing here? We need people like you in DC".
I said that my place
was right here at KSC.
I noted the countdown clock was at two hours and twenty seven
minutes prior to the launch of Apollo 11 and asked him if he would
like a soft drink?
He said:
"Yeah, maybe a shot and a beer, after
hearing all you have said, Mac".
He laughed. I smiled and went for
two Pepsi Colas.
When I returned, he continued the conversation saying:
"Mac, you
work in one of the most secretive and important areas of our
national security on the cutting edge of space science and are no
doubt aware of much that has and is happening during our missions
into space".
I confirmed his statement saying I was also part of an
ONI (Office of Naval Intelligence) unit at Patrick Air Force Base
South of the Cape. He was surprised to hear that fact.
He said,
"So,
you are Naval Intelligence, young man?" I said, "Well, yes sir, but,
only one member".
He continued, making certain none of the people
nearby was within listening distance,
"Now, may I ask you what you
have heard or seen here?" I joked with him and said "Do you have a
need to know, sir" and we both laughed.
Goldwater smiled while he adjusted his camera tripod. Soon, a man
and woman wondered by saying hello and we both similarly replied. I
asked the man if he would take a photo of Goldwater and I together.
I asked approval of the Senator and he gave his OK. Following the
photo being taken, I thanked both the people, they shook the hand of
the Senator and they went on their way. I was disappointed and noted
after it was developed that the photo had been taken too distant to
show both our faces in more detail.
But, it does show enough
recognition.
I asked the Senator if he knew Senator Richard Russell of the State
of Georgia?
He snapped back,
"Are you kidding, Mac? Of course I know
Dick Russell". Goldwater then softly ask me if I was aware of
Senator Russell's UFO sighting in the Soviet Union?"
I smiled and
said "Yes sir. I learned of it through my ONI Unit" He said, "Now,
do you have the proper clearances, Mac?" with a smile.
I told him my
clearance level. He said,
"That was more than acceptable", and again
smiled.
He continued,
"I had heard a rumor about Russell having his
UFO experience, and thought I would approach him about it. I was
careful not to have him cuss me out like LeMay. I'll tell you what
he and I discussed. About six or seven years ago in 1962, before my
election loss to Johnson in 1964, Dick and I got together after a
Senate meeting and sat alone in his office. Dick said that around
sundown on 4 October 1955, he saw two separate saucer shaped crafts
while traveling on a train through the Soviet Union on his way to
Czechoslovakia.
He made a small sketch of the object for us to
study on his desk pad. He showed a sparkle flashing under its base
and indicated it had two lights on its top portion that remained
stationary, while the outer section of each disc appeared to revolve
or spin. He said it had a slight yellowish color and may have been
25 to 35 feet in diameter.
After talking about the object for about
five minutes, Russell tore the desk pad drawing off his sketch pad
and placed it in his jacket pocket for later burning. He told me
that it was classified Top Secret by the FBI and military. He did
not want the sketch to end up in the wrong hands".
Goldwater told me
that Russell then detailed how he watched from his train window as
one saucer shaped craft was seen to rise slowly from the
ground about 2 miles away and flew over his train at not too high a
rate of speed. It was estimated to be between 5 to 6,000 feet in
altitude.
Goldwater emphasized,
"Mac, Dick was so excited about this
actual viewing of a UFO that he tried to summon his Russian language
interpreter, Ruben Efron who arrived too late and had only a brief
sighting of the object. His aid was Colonel Hathaway (later, I
learned he was U. S. Army Colonel, E. U. Hathaway, the military
aid-de-camp for the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee).
Goldwater said that Russell was not able to alert Ruben quickly for
him to have only a brief sighting of the initial craft, but, he,
Colonel Hathaway and Ruben all witnessed the second disc in detail.
Russell said the CIA and FBI, and perhaps the NSA were apparently
briefed in DC concerning this very important event and had a US Air
Force officer interview Russell, Ruben and Colonel Hathaway in
Europe.
Goldwater could not recall the US Air Force Officers name.
Later I gained that data and discovered it was Lt. Colonel, Thomas
Ryan who prepared a detailed report on the sighting for the
Pentagon. The report was highly classified and was not made public
until the excellent work of Dr. Bruce Maccabee, Chairman of the Fund
for UFO Research obtained the documents through the Freedom of
Information Act It was not declassified for public viewing until
1985! Thirty years after the incident.
Goldwater said,
"Mac, it makes one wonder why objects that do not
exist, according to the USAF, require such TOP Secrecy by the US
Government?"
I agreed.
Note: In February 2006,
The Bush Administration once again
reclassified at least 55,000 former secret and confidential
documents. Once again they were not to be released to the public
through the Freedom of Information Act. What caused the highly
secretive Bush Administration to reverse that decision? What is
Bush, Chaney, Rumsfeld, Rice, etc., now keeping from the general
knowledge of the tax paying public? Makes one seriously think!
I continued our exchange, saying,
"Senator, when I first arrived at
Cape Canaveral in 1958, the initial mystery event I became aware of
was what RCA Engineers called Lonesome George! I later was informed
by those personnel that they had accidentally discovered an
orbiting, what could be called, alien space probe out at the
distance of the moon.
Senator, remember that the USA and USSR had
not orbited any man made object at the time they initially
discovered the object. What was its purpose, negative or positive
concerning the safety of the human race? It apparently was not
showing any harmful intent towards the earth".
Goldwater did show
amazement at my disclosure and admitted having no knowledge of the
object.
I then related I was also aware of several Mercury, Gemini and other
UFO sightings by astronaut crews. That statement seemed to light up
the Senators eyes.
He asked,
"What did they observe?" I continued,
"During our Mercury Program, I heard the voice of Astronaut Gordon
Cooper during his Mercury 9 mission report a "green colored object"
that appeared to be passing his capsule in the opposite orbital
direction over the Pacific Ocean in 1963. Many years later, I spoke
with Gordo during a phone conversation and asked him if he would
elaborate?
He denied it was a fact and said he did not see an object
during Mercury 9. But, I had heard him say he was tracking such an
object? He quickly added, we are on a phone Slim (My nickname used
by several of the earlier astronauts). He caught me by surprise".
The Senator asked me why?
I said,
"I suspected that Gordo was giving
me a message. He apparently had suspicion his phone was not secure.
Maybe I was incorrectly making that judgment, but, that was my
analysis of his statement. Senator, now to elaborate on the Mercury
9 mission. I was at the Mercury Mission Control facility here at
Cape Canaveral on the day of the return to earth by Cooper. I had
initially tried to visit USAF Colonel John A. "Shorty" Powers at
Hangar "S" discovering that the Colonel was at mission control South
of the hangar area and I drove there to see him.
He had my special
Mercury 9 lapel pin, a memento of this historic mission. Having
security clearance, I entered the mission control area. I
immediately heard communications between Mercury 9 and the Cap Com
(Capsule Communication) officer, Astronaut Wally Schirra who was
tracking Cooper and the Faith 7 across the Pacific Ocean on it's
final pass prior to splash down in that same area on its next pass.
It was the final orbit of Faith Seven before reentry back to earth.
The commentary was on an open PA system
at mission control.
Following the disclosure of Cooper that he was observing a "green
colored object", and other comments that were made by Astronaut
Scott Carpenter who was in the Kauai, Hawaii tracking station
concerning it.
Senator, Cooper was on his third orbit and had
released a highly luminous 6 inch diameter Xenon Strobe Light sphere
to test his tracking capabilities of the object while on orbit. He
finally was able to see it on his fourth orbit. Senator, I wonder if
the object he saw was connected to that Xenon Strobe Light?
But, it
was not green and not in the proper orbital path.."
"Senator, I believe he actually did see a UFO. Sir, Cooper has
disclosed to me that he had chased UFOs during his USAF duties in
1951 while in Germany. He said they out maneuvered his flight of
F-86 Sabre jets and were flying at a greater speed than our
airplanes.
Goldwater said:
"Yes, Mac, I'm aware of that fact."
I
continued,
"Are you aware that Astronaut
Gordon Cooper was later
bumped from the Apollo 14 lunar landing mission by NASA?
Goldwater
said:
"Mac, I also recall that fact".
"Yes sir, he was" I replied.
"Why? Were there hidden reasons?" Goldwater again asked?
"Sir, Gordo
enjoyed racing, he loved controlling a fast vehicle, like most of
those earlier astronauts. He was considering entering a big car race
in Daytona Beach against the objections of NASA. He was warned by
NASA to stay clear of any race in Daytona. They had spent a lot of
money training him and were not going to have an car accident impact
their critical lunar launch schedule. Gordo was angered by that
refusal. NASA realized he was still planning on entering a race, so they finally
assigned that Apollo 14 mission to Alan Shepard."
Following that incident, it was all down hill for
Gordon Cooper and
his NASA astronaut career.
Gordon was bitter about that up to the
day of his death. Weeks, a month or two after the Coopers Mercury-9
mission, I often went to Hangar "S" that was a short distance from
Hangar "T" where I was part of the Titan II Launch Operations team.
The guard at the hangar gate approved my entry and I would find the
astronaut that was next up for a mission. Cooper was there and we
sat down and discussed his mission and UFOs.
He said he was
considering taking the mystery to a world organization (He did not
say the UN) and hopefully have the subject brought before the world
to establish research into what they were and what their mission
might be concerning the earth. Cooper believed UFOs were
extraterrestrial machines. I believe Cooper knew secrets about UFOs
he kept from disclosing to the public at that time. I personally
believe he was threatened with the loss of his retirement if he
would not remain quiet. His interest in UFOs also may have impacted
his NASA career.
Goldwater then asked about sightings during other space missions. I
mentioned several during Gemini and Apollo and then I asked him if
he had heard anything about a 1956 US Naval aircraft and the huge
UFO that many crew member and others observed over the Atlantic
Ocean? He said he had not.
I said,
"I was not surprised. Senator, it
apparently was also kept secret by the Pentagon as that incident of
Senator Russell. My initial muster (US Naval term for a meeting)
with the US Navy ONI Unit 6-69 at Patrick AFB, Florida was in early
1959. I was introduced to several highly ranked officers (admirals,
captains, etc.) who immediately swore me to secrecy, Bible and all,
concerning what I was about to presently view and other data I would
experience in the future concerning confidential and secret
information. I agreed and volunteered to operate the group movie and
slide projector."
My being an investigator of UFOs, and a member of NICAP, for many
years was apparently well known by this group of US Naval Officers.
I had presented talks on the subject of Space Flight and UFOs at the
Philadelphia Naval Base a few years prior, and was presently seeking
additional UFO encounters within the space program. I realized that
would be my value to the unit along with my friendship with many
NASA Astronauts to this ONI Unit.
Captain Rudy Bergholz, a technical
manager at NASA KSC, opened a large film canister and handed it to
me.
The film can was marked, confidential with other taped notes of
instructions and warnings. I began rolling the film and I found it
to be an amazing disclosure of a UFO incident that occurred in 1956.
The officers were excitingly talking among themselves as it
described the sighting of a huge disc shaped UFO (400 feet in
diameter) by a US Naval flight crew in a Navy R7V-2 transport, which
was a four engine Super-Constellation traveling West over the Atlantic Ocean towards Gander, Newfoundland.
An apparent refueling
stop for its eventual landing at the Naval Air Station at Patuxant,
Maryland. (Note: A base where several astronaut crews would
eventually be trained for secret DoD missions, STS-48, UFOs etc.
during future Space Shuttle Program).
I immediately noted a familiar name, Admiral
Delmar S. Fahrney being
mentioned in the film. Goldwater injected a comment,
"Yes, I have
met Admiral Fahrney, Mac."
I said," Yes, sir"
I continued, "Another
comment was made in the film recognizing NICAP and Major Donald E.
Keyhoe, a former US Marine fighter pilot".
I asked the Senator if he
knew Keyhoe? He said,
"Yes, I have met him. A very impressive man".
I commented that I wondered why I had not heard about this case
prior to this ONI meeting, perhaps from NICAP in Washington DC?
Captain Bergholz said I had not yet been approved to have a "need to
know" by the US Navy. Apparently, now I had that need, but, why?
During the meeting, Captain Bergholz finally sprung the reason, I
was to investigate and verify through those German Scientists at
Cape Canaveral, who those
Paper Clip Scientists were that had come
to the USA with Dr. Wernher von Braun in 1946 and who had been
assigned to the AMC (Air Material Command) Foreign Technology
Division at Wright Field, Ohio?
Bergholz being my commanding
officers delegated the job to me because of my association with many
German Scientists at Cape Canaveral. I later informed Burgholz that
I had discovered at least three Paper Clip Scientists that were
assigned to Wright Field following their arrival with Dr. Wernher
von Braun.
One named Siegfried Knemeyer, former
Third Riech
Luftwaffe Pilot and RLM Director,
Senator Goldwater
interrupted me, and said,
"Mac, what's RLM? I told him it was the
German Air Ministry that created the various planes, like the Messerschmidt, Junker, and may
have influenced the the V-1 and V-2 rockets at Peenemunde. I
continued, two other Paper Clip scientists at Wright Field are Dr.
Hans Amtmann and Dr. Alexander Lippisch. I believe all three are
still at Wright-Patterson Air Force base, Senator. Perhaps you can
try and contact them there."
The Senator quickly replied,
"No, not
after that experience with General LeMay, Mac!"
I said,
"Senator,
you are aware of the military rivalry to gain the upper hand over
other areas of the United States military that has been an on-going
practice throughout our national history".
He replied,
"Yes, I am,
having been associated with the military budgets in the Senate".
I
continued saying,
"There was and still is a great rivalry between
the US military services and since the USAF and the US Army ABMA
were playing the same game between them at Wright Field, the AMC
(Air Material Command) Foreign Technology Division of the USAF had
captured alien technology and the US Navy wanted it shared with the
ONI.
Another habitual US Military squabble. Can you imagine the
Soviet Union having such squabbles? Not on your life. Admirals and
General would have been marched to a wall and executed. In fact,
Stalin did just that to several of his military officers. Goldwater
agreed.
I continued to explain the film,
"As we all watched the ONI film, it
described the sighting of a huge 400 foot or larger saucer shaped
object that was encountered by a US Navy R7V-2 four engine
Constellation aircraft over the Atlantic Ocean. As many as 40
military personnel and air crew observed it as it approached the
aircraft and appeared to be observing the Navy plane.
It was at an
altitude of about 19 to 20,000 feet and at first the object was
mistaken for being a gathering of many ships below the plane due to
its size when initially and earlier viewed far below the aircraft by
the navigator and commander of the plane. I said, Senator Goldwater,
I cannot recall the names of the flight crew. He said, "Just
continue with the incident, Mac. It's very interesting and I was not
aware it had happened".
I continued,
"They all witnessed it and
described it as having a large illuminated outer ring. Since it and
what some said may have been other craft below were possibly seen.
As the large object approached the plane at about 1,000 yards those
aboard were mystified and frightened. The crew later said it was a
huge saucer shaped metallic machine."
Goldwater asked,
"Mac, did
they show photographs of it in the ONI film ?"
I told him I was not
aware that a film was exposed during the actual incident, so, no, I
did not see any depiction of the UFO. If any UFO film, was taken at
all, it was apparently under Top Secret classification and not shown
in the ONI film. Some comments made by the crew in the film were
that they all considered the huge object was "intelligently
controlled". They also said that no living creature, etc, was seen.
They added that,
"the crafts speed from when it climbed from near sea
level to their aircraft altitude was estimated to be about 1,400 to
2,000+ knots in a brief time lapse of seven to eight seconds."
The
Senator said,
"That's astounding, Mac! What else was said?"
I
continued,
"The Navy aircraft commander radioed ahead to the Gander
Air Force Base control tower and asked if their radar was
identifying any other object near his R7V-2? The tower control
officer said, yes, a larger object and in close proximity of the
Navy plane. Sir, they verified that gigantic craft was on their
radar!"
He replied,
"Mac, I was not aware of that case! I will try
and pursue it when I return to Washington".
I replied,
"Contact Don Keyhoe or Richard Hall, his deputy".
I continued with the sighting
saying,
"The US Navy flight Commander asked the USAF interviewer at
Gander during their individual and group debriefing was asked by the
interrogator, did they see any indication of life? His reply was,
no, but it was intelligently controlled, and my crew and I are all
witnesses to that fact!
That object was not remotely controlled,
something inside of it was in CONTROL! The interrogator would not
discuss what the Gander Radar had recorded and refused to allow the
Navy to review it. The Navy Commander asked the Air Force Officer,
what's the USAF up to now? You people say UFOs do not exist, what
the hell did we see if they don't exist? The USAF Officer said,
Sorry, we cannot answer any of your questions!
I told the Senator that I suspected it was Dr. J. Alan Hynek who
became involved about four or so days later after the US Navy
aircraft arrived at Patuxant, Maryland and the crew was once again
placed under an intense ONI interrogation with a detailed report
from each crew member and those who were passengers returning home."
Senator Goldwater then said,
"What was the scientists response, Mac?
I am very interested to know. I may contact Hynek and try to
investigate if he were the scientist involved."
I replied,
"Good
idea sir. Now to continue, the unidentified scientist asked the Navy
Commander if he had any photographs of the huge UFO? The Commander
said yes, but they have all been confiscated and classified. The
scientist met with the Commander and unlocked a brief case and
withdrew several photos of strange objects (UFOs). He asked the
Commander if any were similar? While reviewing the photos, the
Commander stopped and said, this is the exact saucer shaped object
my crew and I saw.
He then said, if you and the government have
photos such as these, there are people within the Federal Government
who know? The scientist said he was sorry, but., he could not
disclose anything. Closed his briefcase and left the room. Senator,
the facts concerning UFOs and if they are from an alien star race is
known in DC!"
Senator Goldwater then said,
"Mac, I am absolutely
going to look into this when I return to Washington tomorrow".
I then asked the Senator if he would answer a few questions I had
for him. He agreed.
I asked him,
"Are you aware of any facts that
are unknown to the public regarding the alleged Roswell crash in
1947?"
He said:
"Mac, I have investigated that incident through every
possible agency that may have had some responsibility, the FBI
(Hoover who shut me off quickly), The NRO, DIA, NSA, etc., and have
gained nothing other than hell from the Pentagon. You may know more
about it than I. I'm as curious about those facts as you.
The
reaction I have had from General LeMay and the on-site Roswell facts
known by General "Butch" Blanchard, etc., has told me one thing that
it did happen and is a major secret regarding UFOs and aliens of our
time. Perhaps of all times".
I looked at my watch and the NASA Countdown Clock a short distance
from where we were and it was progressing without any launch holds.
Excitement was rising with the VIP crowd. My break had run out.
Senator Goldwater and I both shook hands and I thanked him for his
openness with me. As I walked away, I glanced back at him and
realized I would probably not talk with this great man in our
nations history again. To me, Senator Barry Goldwater was a national
treasure and great American patriot.
I returned to the LCC.
At 9:32 AM the liftoff of the huge Saturn V
Apollo 11 rocket rumbled into space and a historic was realized.
Mankind landed and returned from the moon and will continue to
explore the vast universe should our human existence continue.
On 29 May 1998, Barry Goldwater passed away in Phoenix, Arizona.
Perhaps he now knows the secrets of that "secret area" at
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and is now aware of other races
among the stars.
Yes, I have witnessed Hyper Drive UFOs!

For those visiting this exciting website, I now inform them that
"yes", I have had the good fortune of personally seeing unidentified
flying objects on several occasions.
Were they of alien origin? At
this time, I cannot say.
In November 1995, I had a very unique sighting of two large globes
(or discs bottom up) during my return to a resort owned by a friend
on the coast of Ambergris Caye, Belize, Central America. Many
strange aerial objects have been observed over Belize throughout the
years. The native Mayans have related other events to me occurring
in the skies over this island. It's an excellent area to test
advanced military aircraft or other aerial vehicles.
I was with four other witnesses that evening when two bright fast
moving lights caught our attention flying between Castor and Pollux,
the two brightest stars in the constellation Gemini. Being a trained
astronomer since age twelve, I'm very familiar with star fields.
As the two objects flew from Northwest to Southeast each one
emitted, or launched, a bright pale off-white bar, (resembling a
beam of light), which was observed projecting from the leading edge
of each object, and preceding them in flight. The beams preceding
each object I estimated at several thousand feet in length. Maybe
more. They were flying one behind the other at an unknown distance.
We heard no sound and I estimated their size at twice the dimension
of the US Space Shuttle.
The objects appeared to be in low earth orbit, or possibly very high
altitude within the atmosphere. Each of the globes/discs color was a
bright, soft white and did not appear metallic. As each
released/formed another beam of light, each craft appeared to "ride
it" like a rail and as each beam neared its end, another was formed
ahead of each. We watched them for approximately three to four
minutes until they went out of sight over the horizon.
The question arises, if these craft were "riding" a light beam, it
may possibly indicate an advanced propulsion capability by
converting photon energy into inertia to propel the craft at speeds
approaching the speed of light (or what is normally called Warp
Drive in today's terminology).
The sighting was especially intriguing due to the nature and
behavior of the "beams" being produced and used for what appeared to
be their propulsion mechanism. It was both fascinating and
mysterious even with all the experience I have had with rockets and
spacecraft. I searched for years unable to locate a scientist or
physicist willing to openly venture a theory concerning the energy
source both were using, until I placed my search on the Internet.
Then a group involved in what they call the "Onion Drive Double
Helix System", made contact with me.
Until then, I was not able to
venture a guess as to what I had viewed above Belize, Central
America. What Jeff Savage, an engineer with an interest in physics
and his team have disclosed to me has since created the realization
that their concept of an advanced energy source for space travel may
now be a reality. Especially those untethered to the military and
government bureaucracy, those who are advancing the Onion Drive
technology.
I've been asked many times, if these craft were alien technology
being flown by aliens, or alien technology being flown by US
Naval/USAF pilots, back-engineered here on earth? All I can add to
this report is that I was "informed" by a person prior to leaving
for Central America to watch the skies to the Northwest above Belize
on the night I observed them for a display of advanced technology.
Apparently that source knew something would be tested in Belize
skies that night.
The source also indicated that this technology, U.
S., foreign (alien) or otherwise would be flown by pilots of the
United States military. This person was knowledgeable of the
location of Ambergris Island and the Central American test area.
Sorry about the anonymity, but as with all other golden tidbits of
covert information, we must respect these valuable sources and their
wishes for continuance of their paychecks, and in more delicate
situations, their next birthdays.

Alien Disclosure from an Astronaut

Prior to the fateful launch of the space shuttle Challenger on
January 28, 1986, I had the honor and pleasure of sharing
conversations with several members of that crew.
During one of many pre-mission preps for the Challenger mission, I
came upon Lt. Col. Ellison Onizuka in the Vehicle Assembly Building
(VAB) at launch complex 39.
I had an assignment to assess some
problems at the Launch Control Center (LCC) and needed to access the
main drawing files. A file operator was there and I went to her for
assistance. Ellison walked in on our conversation and we exchanged
greetings. Jokingly, I asked him if he had important business with
her, and he said "yes, Clark" with a big smile. I told her to help
Lt. Colonel Ellison first, and I would wait. She opened a plastic
bag that had a packet of goodies for this very important customer.
Ellison "loved" those chocolate-peanut butter brownies that she
baked for him when he was at KSC on training assignments.
Many astronauts at the KSC knew of my interest in the study of
possible ET intelligence, and my association with Major Donald Keyhoe,
Dick Hall and the National Investigations Committee on
Aerial Phenomena (NICAP since 1958), and the
Mutual UFO Network
(MUFON), at Cape Canaveral and KSC.
Another evening while off-site, I once again accidentally came upon
Ellison. He asked if I could give him an opinion regarding a topic
that was sparking his curiosity. Ellison had a great interest in ET
life and asked me my belief concerning aliens, and if I believed
they have been here on earth?
His question caught me by surprise.
As we walked slowly towards our destinations, I briefly explained
what I had learned since 1947, the initial year I entered my UFO
research. I briefly related what I knew regarding the Roswell case
and that I had become more aware of it many years later at the Cape
through several discussions with ABMA (Army Ballistic Missile
Agency) personnel who were at White Sands Proving Grounds near
Roswell, New Mexico in July, 1947. These men had worked directly
with Dr. Wernher von Braun and his team of German Scientists who
were at that base at that time. Onizuka said he was aware of that
case.
I then told him my belief that life does exist among the stars and
that it has visited earth throughout human history. He smiled in
agreement. I thought to myself, what else does he know? Soon it
became very clear.
Onizuka asked me if my surname had any connection with McClellan Air
Force Base in California? I said not as far as I was aware. I asked
him why? Ellison said he had a surprising experience along with
other USAF aerospace flight engineers and pilots while on military
training duty at McClellan AFB, about eight or nine years prior to
his astronaut training.
He and this group were at this base for specialized training when
they were directed to report to a viewing room. As they were seated,
the room darkened and a movie began without the usual official
introduction by a USAF officer.
They were all startled when a view of a facility similar to a
medical examination room appeared on the screen and small bodies
were observed lying on slabs. He heard several excited comments by
the other officers seated near him. The small, strange looking
creatures were humanoid in shape, and appeared similar to those
described by alleged witnesses at the well-known Roswell site in the
Southwest USA in 1947. They all had large heads, large eyes, slight
torsos, arms, and legs. They did not appear to be of earthly origin.
Ellison then said,
"Clark, my God, these highly trained officers
and I were shocked by what we saw. We were not made privy to what we
would see until it happened. We were all caught off guard. Perhaps
it was a test of our psyche to determine our overall reaction. Well,
we were all caught by surprise".
Needless to say, I was also caught off guard hearing this revelation
from a highly intelligent USAF officer and NASA astronaut. One who
flew his initial space mission 51-C in the space shuttle Discovery a
highly classified Department of Defense (DoD) mission under top
secret conditions. It made me wonder what else Ellison knew, or
perhaps had seen, during his first shuttle mission and USAF career?
I said,
"thats amazing, Ellison! Were all of you given any
opportunity to question what you saw?" He said, "No! We were then
asked to exit the room and continued our scheduled technical
activities as if nothing special had occurred. In my opinion, I have
considered the possibility that the group was evaluated for
individual reactions to what they saw. Perhaps it was a planned USAF
psychological test for military reasons. Who knows, NASA may have
evaluated it in my selection as an astronaut in 1978. You know, what
would my reaction be if I actually saw an alien being"?
We arrived at our separate building destinations and briefly
discussed his approaching second space mission in Challenger 51-L.
He said he was anticipating a successful flight with Judy Resnik,
Christa McAuliffe, and crew. I asked if we could discuss this topic
again; and he agreed.
Unknown to us both, this would be the last time we would speak. He,
Judy, Christa and the other crew members would be making their final
mission on January 28, 1986. I was at the Kennedy Space Center and
watched in disbelief as they and space shuttle Challenger fell into
the Atlantic Ocean.
Upon leaving KSC for the night after being on duty for about 15
hours, I was driving home to my Port St. John Apartment when the
disaster finally caught up with my emotions. I pulled to the side of
the main NASA causeway crossing the Indian River and sobbed my eyes
out for about ten minutes. God, how horrible it was, and still is to
this day, in my memory.
God bless you Judy Resnik, Ellison Onizuka, Christa McAuliffe, Dick
Scobee, Michael Smith, Gregory Jarvis and Ronald McNair. Thank you
God for the honor of knowing all of them. And, please, if you would
- make sure Ellison gets those chocolate-peanut butter brownies
up there in heaven.

The Arkansas Incident

The
UFO Crash in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947 is rightfully
considered the paramount case thus far experienced by the public in
the history of the UFO enigma. Yet, there was another disc recovery
disclosed to me in 1994, and it apparently occurred in the State of
Arkansas in October/November, 1946.
A former United States Army Air Force Private stationed at Wright
Patterson A. F. B., recently came out of the closet and disclosed
his experience witnessing a recovered disc which was being stored at
building 18 (not yet called Hangar 18). The Private was delivering
documents to the building when a friend in his unit, on guard duty
asked him if he wanted to see a strange craft stored in the
building. He followed him inside and to his surprise, a disc shaped
object was sitting on the deck. It was 15 feet in diameter and about
7 feet in width.
He said it looked like two soup bowls sealed
together. In the center was an 18 inch divider with 10 x 15 inch
rectangular "windows" set about 8 to 10 inches apart circling the
disc.
This sketch was drawn during the interview session with the witness.
The guard told the Private that several scientists were attempting
to gain entry into the interior. They tried to use a diamond drill
to penetrate the "glass" yet the drill had no effect on the clear
material. There were no visual doors or entry hatches. No insignias,
flags, no writing, no numbers. The material appeared to be a mold of
one continuous material. It appeared to be brushed aluminum yet it
wasn't. The body inside and out had no weld seams, no rivets, no
apparent joining of the skin.
They both looked into the interior and
did not see anything of apparent interest. No control panels, no
seats, no hatches, no entities, nothing. A cylinder was in the
center and its wall was about 6 feet from the window. The cylinder
was about 3 feet in diameter and possibly housed the power unit
The Private was a Clerk Specialist assigned to interview and
classify new recruits to their specialty school on base. The base
Commander was Colonel Nathan Twining who would years later be the
Chairman of the Joints Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon.
Von Braun at Roswell

In 1947, a controversial event took place in New Mexico near the
town of Roswell. The "Roswell Incident," as it has come to be known,
remains the paramount case in UFO crash/retrieval history. In
addition to the claims of a downed alien ship, alien bodies were
said to have been recovered from the debris.
The USAF and Federal Government have kept a steadfast opinion that
the object in question was a high altitude balloon project, code
named: Mogul.
The project was designed to detect nuclear blasts in
the USSR. The bodies that were recovered, according to the USAF,
were parachute test dummies that had been released high above the
desert, and had eventually drifted into the "balloon" crash area.
The USAF finally settled on this fabricated version of events and
passed it off to the American public as truth.
During my long years of service in our national space program, I was
very fortunate to come to know and exchange some very exciting data
with former German scientists, who had been brought to the USA under
Operation Paper Clip following WW II. These men were the elite of
the German rocket programs controlled by Adolph Hitler.
On many
occasions I had the distinct privilege of speaking with Dr. Wernher
von Braun, the leader of the elite group, and several other
scientists who were assigned to the ABMA (Army Ballistics Missile
Agency) launch crews at the Cape Canaveral launch sites. Eventually,
these same men were incorporated into the new National Aeronautics
and Space Administration (NASA) organization.
During the periodic
MFA (Manned Flight Awareness) meetings that were held at Cocoa
Beach, I was able to talk freely and briefly with such scientists,
particularly Dr. von Braun.
On one such occasion, he and I had taken a break and stepped out of
the Cocoa Beach Ramada Inn into the back patio. I admitted that I
was aware that he and his German Scientific team were located not
too far from the crash site at that time. They were launching
captured V-2 rockets from the White Sands Testing Range. On this
night, I asked him a question concerning the Roswell Incident that
caused his eyebrows to raise.
Did the Roswell Incident in fact happen, was an alien craft
recovered along with alien bodies? Did you have a chance to go to
the crash site?"
Dr von Braun was a cigarette smoker and he lit one up. He thought
for a second, then proceeded to talk freely about his inspection of
the crashed craft.
He trusted me to hear such astonishing events because I vowed to not
report it to newspapers, magazines, television, etc. I never broke
that vow. Since he is deceased, and the incident happened over fifty
years ago, I am now disclosing what I heard. I have a right to speak
about anything even things that, according to certain agencies,
"do not exist."
Dr. von Braun explained how he and his (unnamed, for now) associates
had been taken to the crash site after most of the military were
pulled back. They did a quick analysis of what they found. He told
me the craft did not appear to be made of metal as we know metal on
earth. He said it seemed to be created from something biological,
like skin. I was lost as to what he indicated, other than thinking
perhaps the craft was "alive." The recovered bodies were temporarily
being kept in a nearby medical tent.
They were small, very frail and
had large heads. Their eyes were large. Their skin was grayish and
reptilian in texture. He said it looked similar to the skin texture
of rattle snakes he'd seen several times at White Sands. His
inspection of the debris had even him puzzled: very thin, aluminum
colored, like silvery chewing gum wrappers. Very light and extremely
strong. The interior of the craft was nearly bare of equipment, as
if the creatures and craft were part of a single unit.
That's when I became lost in the moment. We returned to the awards
ceremony, in which he participated, later bidding farewell. I went
home with my head spinning from all I had heard. Keeping this quiet
for many years was very difficult, especially with the temptations
of having many friends and associates who believe in UFOs, ETs, etc.
I never released this amazing data to Major Keyhoe and NICAP, or the
public, until now.
I considered my honor sacred when a vow was made.
Chasing Juno

Several years before the Atlas incident in
September of '64, a Juno
II rocket had been launched by the Army Ballistic Missile Agency at
Cape Canaveral, Florida. German Scientist, Dr. Wernher von Braun was
assigned to this agency in Huntsville, Alabama. The "buzz" around
the Cape was that the Juno II, which was having tests run on the
ablative shield applied to its nosecone, was accompanied by
"visitors" which followed it into the earth's atmosphere upon
reentry.
The nosecone left quite a streak, resembling a fireball as it
reentered atmosphere. Remarkably, the UFOs seemed to behave as if
atmospheric friction was not an issue.
I was working on a launch tower steel modification assignment when
Dr. von Braun and other former German Scientists were doing an
on-site inspection near Launch Pad 5. I had an opportunity to
introduce myself to him, Dr. Kurt DeBus, Director of the ABMA Launch
Team at the Cape, and Dr. Grune, his deputy.
As Dr. DeBus walked
ahead of von Braun and me, I asked him,
"Dr. von Braun, is it true
that a Juno II we launched from here had other unknown craft
accompany it back into the earth's atmosphere?"
He looked at me with a bit of surprise, and said,
"Young man, yes we
had such an encounter with a power that appears advanced beyond ours
here. Stronger than we have assumed and unknown to us where their
base is located. I cannot say much more other than we are entering
into a closer contact with these unknown powers and perhaps within a
short time, a few months or so of time, we will be capable of saying
more."
I must have had my lower jaw hit the ground when I heard
these statements. I shook his hand and returned to my assignments.
Later, I would learn that he made a similar statement while visiting
his homeland of Germany.
I personally withheld this astounding
disclosure for many years due to my utmost respect for this pioneer
of space travel.
Interfering with Atlas

UFO Disables ICBM SEPTEMBER, 1964
Was the USAF facing an Interstellar "Act of Peace?"
An Atlas ICBM launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California,
during a test of a dummy nuclear warhead, took part in what now
appears to have been a very significant mission, although the
military would not realize its importance until the flight ended in
failure. In fact, from a military standpoint, it seems to have ended
in an act of interstellar war. However, there is another far less
threatening interpretation of this event, and it may in fact have
been just the opposite of an act of hostile aggression.
Whatever the
motive for this close encounter, nothing the USAF released hinted at
anything out of the ordinary. Was the USAF even slightly aware of
what was to happen that day? Or were they simply trying to establish
the best visual coverage of a major test of the Nike-Zeus
antimissile system? The latter was probably the case, but let's
study the steps that led up to one of the most startling events in
UFO history. Astonishingly, even today, few know anything about it.
The USAF Western Missile Testing Range at Vandenberg provides a
testing range capability practically unmatched anywhere else on
earth. It allows the launch of rockets across vast expanses of the
Pacific Ocean 5,000 miles or longer. It also provides a chain of
islands for tracking and launch of defensive missile systems tested
against those fired from Vandenberg. It is a strong link in our
national defense capabilities.
An important series of Atlas ICBM launchings were planned in the
fall of 1964. The USAF, needing strategic data from each mission,
required a scrutinizing look at each missile launched in that
series. To be assured success, the USAF Western Missile Test Range
received permission to borrow a state-of-the-art 24-inch Gregorian
Telescopic Camera from their counterparts, the USAF Eastern Missile
Test Range at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida, located about twenty
miles south of the USAF Cape Canaveral Missile Test Center.
The
Gregorian Telescopic Camera was a precise astronomical instrument
built by scientists at Boston University, and was quite capable of
delivering close-up views of the Atlas rocket during its most
critical phases of flight.
USAF Lieutanant Robert Jacobs was assigned as Officer-in-charge of
Photo-Optical Instrumentation for the 1369th Photographic Squadron
at Vandenberg. His first responsibility was to locate a suitable,
remotely located site to securely mount the camera. The site had to
be high, stable, and located at a specific distance northwest of the
launch site. It also had to be in an area not susceptible to the
California early morning coastal fog which plagues most beach areas,
usually drifting inland. Fog would obscure the vital view of the
launch.
After days of extensive searching, Jacobs located a perfect remote
site in Big Sur. He and his crew securely mounted the camera in
place. What it captured was simply amazing.
The film began to roll, catching the Atlas missile in an awesome
view that literally filled the camera frame from an amazing distance
of 100 nautical miles! As the dummy nuclear nosecone approached
T+400 seconds into the flight, a sufficient visual angle had been
established to verify the rocket was locked into the camera tracking
frame. As the camera automatically ran off the remaining 35 mm
frames, Lt. Jacobs and his crew celebrated their success.
Later that
evening, Jacobs placed the film canisters in his vehicle and
delivered them to Vandenberg for developmental processing. Jacobs
had no hint what his camera had recorded.
The next morning, Jacobs
was immediately ordered to report to the office of Major Florenz
Mansmann, First STRAT AD, of Vandenberg Air Force Base, a very
intelligent and dedicated military officer.
When Jacobs arrived, he first noticed a 35 mm movie projector and
large screen had already been set up. He eagerly anticipated seeing
the film from Big Sur. Turning to scan the office, he noticed three
solemn looking men dressed in gray suits, watching every move he
made. None spoke a word, no Good-morning, no exchanges, nothing.
Soon, the Major greeted them with a Good-morning and started the
projector rolling. Jacobs found himself admiring the clear, crisp
frames showing the Atlas rising into space in all its glory. He was
very proud of his team and their accomplishments. Every sequence of
the rocket was clearly captured as it continued out over the ocean.
The segment of the flight reached the point where the dummy nuclear
warhead sequence was to take place.
As the final frames of the film
approached, Major Mansmann said,
"Lt. Jacobs, now watch the screen
carefully."
Suddenly the most remarkable thing Jacobs had ever seen came into
view from right to left and joined the streaking Atlas. It
approached the dummy warhead and began to maneuver around it. The
strange visitor was actually orbiting the nosecone in flight. It
dawned on Jacobs that this "thing" was intricately circling the
warhead while both were traveling at 18,000 miles per hour! That is
phenomenal maneuverability, even by today's standards of aviation.
Jacobs was shocked into realizing that as far as he was concerned,
the US, better yet, the world governments, had no such capability to
display this feat of technological showmanship.
"Who did?" was
Jacobs' silent question.
Then, something even more astonishing occurred.
The "thing"
circumnavigated the warhead while emitting four very distinct and
bright flashes of very intense white light, hitting the warhead at
approximately the four cardinal points of the compass as it related
to the long cylindrical shape of the nosecone. These flashes were so
intense that each strike on the warhead caused the image orthicon
(television) tube to bloom or form a halo around each light burst.
Following this unearthly display, the strange craft departed in the
direction from which it came. Jacobs noted that the shape of the
object was the classic saucer. On top, in the center of the disc,
was a dome from which the four bright flashes of light emanated.
Subsequently, the dummy warhead's trajectory was obviously disrupted
by the "attack." It malfunctioned, tumbling out of control into the
Pacific, hundreds of miles short of where the Nike-Zeus was to
intercept it in a crucial test of our missile defense capabilities.
The mission's primary objective had failed.
The film ended. Major
Mansmann switched on the lights and pointedly
asked if Lt. Jacobs or his crew had been fooling around with the
optical equipment.
"No sir!" replied Jacobs. "Then," demanded Mansmann, "what the hell was that, Lt. Jacobs?"
Jacobs looked straight into Mansmann's eyes and said,
"It looks to
me like we got a UFO, sir."
Jacobs had just committed a major
mistake.
The three spooks in gray suits glared at Jacobs without saying a
word. Their stare was cold and filled with grave concern over his
remark.
Major Mansmann, observing their reaction, ordered Jacobs to forget
all he had witnessed on the film, told him it never happened. Jacobs
responded with his affirmation and left the room like any USAF
officer would do if he valued his military career. Years later, Lt.
Jacobs would feel guilty over keeping this astounding event from the
public. He disclosed it in an article published in the Mutual UFO
Network (MUFON) Journal.
In 1997, I attempted to locate Major
Florenz Mansmann, who had no
doubt retired. After finding an address, I wrote a very polite
letter and awaited an answer. To be honest, I did not expect one.
About two weeks later, to my complete surprise, a very cordial
response arrived accompanied by photocopies of articles of the Major
and his photographic crew, including Lt. Jacobs. It was obvious the
Major was proud of his long military career and his numerous,
impressive accomplishments. He also provided written approval to
quote him and all he said concerning this incident, and verified
that this strange craft had indeed downed one of the USA's strategic
missile nosecones.
Was this an alien "act of peace?"
"They" demonstrated a level of
technology clearly capable of totally destroying the missile or
doing far worse but instead, the UFO merely disrupted the guidance
system by maneuvering in at extremely close range, and firing four
pulses of light.
Perhaps "They" even
knew it was only a dummy warhead, and chose precisely this mission
to send their message. What would the military reaction have been to
an "attack" on a live missile? More may be inferred by assessing the
aliens' capabilities and looking at what they could have done but
didn't do, than by examining what they did.
What are we to make of this particular incident?
Two things are
certain:
1. The "Other Intelligences" (as von Braun called them)
downed that missile
2. If "They" had wanted to, "They" could
have done far worse, judging by their level of technology
The "Alien Message," if there is one, may not be one of peace but
at the very least, it seems to be one of antiwar.
Or so we should
hope.
Investigating the Investigator

In 1994, I located the former wife of the NASA Senior Scientist who
had been at the Kennedy Space Center during the Apollo Missions to
the moon. She gave me his address, which was back in Germany where
he retired as a Professor.
I thought it would be OK to send him a letter asking him to verify
that he and I had discussed UFOs and ETs during my tenure as
Director of the NICAP (National Investigations Committee on Aerial
Phenomena) at KSC in the 1960s. I specifically requested he verify
our discussion of the Juno II nose cone reentry and the "guests of
another Intelligence"; that followed it in through the atmosphere.
I waited for a reply. Nothing came.
Then, several weeks later, I received a call from my Sioux Indian
Chief, White Wolf. He was excited and told me the following: During
the early morning, another Native American Chief had received a
telephone call from US Army Intelligence in Huntsville, Alabama
asking him very direct and detailed questions about the author of
this book. He was asked questions of whether I (the author) had
spoken of anything secret or events dealing with UFOs? The Chief
said no to everything he was asked. The USA Intelligence person then
politely ended the interrogation.
Later that afternoon, two men identifying themselves as FBI Agents
from the Pittsburgh Office came to the front door of the home of
Chief White Wolf. They knocked and the Chief answered. They showed
the Chief their official credentials and began to question the Chief
concerning his friendship with the author and brought up the subject
of UFOs. The Chief became angry and told them that his friend,
McClelland has not spoken of anything other than his support in
assisting in correcting the terrible plight of the Native Americans.
The Chief then told the two agents to leave his property and not
come back.
I later made an attempt to follow up on this matter by sending a
letter to the FBI in Washington, DC. I asked them using the Freedom
of Information Act what they had in their files regarding me. With
all my clearances at Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center not
to mention the US Navy, they later responded that there was no data
in their files concerning me. To a normal person, the news would be
wonderful, to me, it was a terrible reality to accept. I apparently
did not exist where it concerned the FBI. They did not address the
fact that I had been investigated and the Chief's questioned.

The Demonstration

NOVEMBER 19, 1996
Space Shuttle Columbia during STS-80 took a crew of five astronauts
into a 17 day, 15 hour and 54 minute mission around the earth, the
longest flight in the history of this vehicle. During this lengthy
flight a very strange event occurred that even had crewman Dr. Story
Musgrave unable to explain what he observed from the shuttle
windows.
A large disc shaped object appeared below the Columbia. The shuttle
was approximately, 190 Nautical miles high.
The disc was first observed to miraculously appear from out of
nowhere, flying through the clouds below and progressing from right
to left as the astronauts stared in utter amazement. The outer rim
of the craft appeared to be rotating counterclockwise. It was very
large (compared to common space junk and breakaway ice),
approximately 50 to 150 feet in diameter.
Astronaut Dr. Story Musgrave, a
Payload Specialist on the STS-80
Mission, was interviewed following the flight. As he viewed a
videotape of the incident which showed lightning flashes in the
atmosphere, the city lights of Denver, Colorado and other earthbound
sights, he stated:
"I don't know what it is. Whether it's a washer,
debris, ice particles, I don't know. But it's characteristic of the
thousands of things which I've seen. What is not so characteristic
is it appears to come from no where. You would think that if it's
facing the dark side or facing a side towards you which is not
reflecting the sun, you would think that you would see something
there. It's really impressive."
During an earlier interview, Dr. Musgrave stated he attempted to
communicate with ET life-forms during each of his six missions. He
actually asked
them to take him with them. Now that's an astronaut
with a lot of courage. Dr. Musgrave retired after this flight from
NASA. Since then he's been spreading his considered opinion that
alien life exists.
When Musgrave speaks of this, it's no great leap
for one to assume he's admitting knowledge of alien life. As the
final slide of a "Grey" ET was shown during a recent astronomy
presentation by Dr. Musgrave, he made this surprising comment:
"These guys are real... I guarantee it!"
Dr. Musgrave does know the
truth. This author guarantees it!
Consider that carefully. These are world renown scientists making
statements almost beyond belief. Dr. von Braun and others of his
stature have the courage to disclose "sensitive" information, but
obviously the leaders of the USA and the world do not.
If billions
could find a way of coping with the overwhelming threat of atomic
annihilation for half a century, it is reasonable to assume we can
cope with the knowledge of these "Other Intelligence's" from the
stars. We can cope with the fact they are visiting earth, and have
been since the beginning of history. We must.
Those still asleep
must open their eyes.
We Are Not Alone.
Four Guests with Gemini

On April 9, 1964 the Gemini-Titan 2 was launched from complex 19 at
the Cape Canaveral USAF Missile Test Range in Florida. It was
unmanned yet drew a lot of attention by "other intelligence's". Who
or what were they?
Your guess is as good as any.

I was a young Designer working for the Titan ll Launch Operations
Team in Hangar "U". I was assigned to work with a bright engineer
called Chuck. We had a problem happening with the first stage of the
Titan and called it "POGO". Several previous test flights were flown
and the effect showed up at lift off. It acted like a POGO stick (up
and down motion) as the vehicle rose into the sky. NASA and the USAF
determined the effect to be dangerous for any of the two astronauts
chosen to fly in the Gemini capsule. The booster would not meet Man
Rated restrictions by NASA and the USAF.
Chuck and I were to attach measurements to the booster and determine
how or what could be done to stop the POGO effect. Several
modifications had been made and this flight would prove if we were
approaching the correction of the difficulty. The capsule had a
canned man which is sometimes called a
"black box" inside the astronaut compartment to help solve the
problem by collecting data.
The rocket lifted off and began to return data which indicated that
the modifications Chuck and I had designed had reduced the POGO
effect significantly. Everyone was delighted to receive the
preliminary information.
As the Gemini Capsule entered orbit, the RCA world tracking team
began to realize that "our" capsule was not alone as viewed through
their incoming telemetry, visual theodolite and other high powered
optical data. Our capsule had four 'visitors". The RCA team was
ordered to run a recheck of
the situation to be certain ghost images were not the cause. The
Titan ll stages were also excluded as causing the images.
NASA, the USAF and Martin-Marietta who built the Titan ll were all
puzzled and just about scratching their heads in unison. After much
huddling and
discussion the intelligent determination was that we had other
physical objects up there with our Gemini capsule. Total silence
filled the launch
control area. A few whispers were heard but nothing else. Then a
brash young member of the team said the words that caused faces to
turn to horror.
I said,
"What about UFOs?"
It was as if I had taken
the Lords name in vain.
The silence deepened as almost everyone present was staring at me. I
felt like a child caught with his/her hand in the cookie jar. Cold
stares
came at me from the NASA Brass and USAF Officers. Actually, the only
obvious answer was what I had so blatantly stated, they were UFOs! I
slipped back
into my assignments and remained a very interested and quiet
observer.
Several hours after the objects departed their single orbit
rendezvous with the Gemini capsule, a strange shadowy group of
personnel arrived on scene. They were not faces of those who had
worked at Cape Canaveral for any length of time. Old time Cape
workers like myself knew a stranger when one showed up in our work
area. Who they were no one seemed to know or if they did know did
not identify them. I made an attempt to I.D. them and ran into a
brick wall of silence. One thing was for certain, this group was at
the Cape for
no other reason other than the Gemini Titan mission and its guests.
A week or so later, I was talking to an old friend called Vince. He
was a Pan American Security guard at the Cape and got around to all
launch complex areas. Vince told me that he transported several men
to the Cape Canaveral Skid Strip (aircraft runway) at the time all
the Gemini activity had taken place. He heard a younger man call
another older person Colonel. Vince had a good pair of eyes when he
wore his glasses and told me they had top secret security clearance
badges he had only seen once before.
The badges appeared to have
letters and a number on them. He thought that he had seen MG, MJ or
M something with a number 12 marked on their badges. He observed
them from across the car roof as they entered his security cruiser
and did not observe the badges close up. They wore no uniforms yet
acted as if they were military.
They spoke of returning the
Washington, DC and only one other word was unclear to him. Vince
said it sounded like Akarius or may have had a "Q" involved in the
spelling ( was it Aquarius?). Vince also noted that they wore
matching lapel pins that may have been similar to those worn by
secret service officers during the several visits by President
Kennedy and Eisenhower in past years.
To make a long story short, NASA, USAF, Pentagon, White House, NSA
etc., all determined that it had to be eventually explained as
normal activity. The hungry dogs of the mass media who ate broken
glass and razor blades to sharpen their questions were awaiting the
NASA news conference eagerly willing to slash away. The official
NASA determination was that the objects were the torn particles or
remains of the Titan upper stage that apparently entered orbit with
the Gemini capsule.
I was at the news conference and I nearly began
to laugh. How could a broken stage overtake the capsule and stop
slightly ahead of the capsule to accompany it an entire orbit around
the earth? But I held my laugh to save my job. A NASA PIO Officer
held his breath hoping my mouth would stay shut. It did and I
remained in my job to record other astounding events that will be in
my book.

Lonesome George

In 1958 when I initially arrived at the Cape Canaveral U.S.A.F.
Missile Test Center, I began to hear the word "Lonesome George"
intermingled into conversations between old time aerospace
personnel. Finally, as I was sitting and eating lunch in one of
several base cafeterias, I heard it once again and interrupted three
people that had used the words between bites.
Two of the lunch
guests told me the following:
They had been developing and working the Range Tracking Network
contracted by the RCA Company since the earlier years of the 1950's.
During the range testing of various instruments, the large radio
telescope (Tel-2) in use to collect telemetry as a rocket was
launched and in flight down range was confronted by a mystery.
While
the launch was in progress, the RCA crew operating the large dish
began to pick up two signals returning from what they thought to be
one source. One signal was quicker to return and the other caused a
longer delay to report to the instrumentation consoles located in an
adjacent building to the dish. As the missile gained altitude and
distance, the second deep space object faded from the dish due to it
following the progress of the rocket.
Completing the assigned tracking and telemetry gathering of the
missile functions, the crew realized that the acquisition of the
second object located its position to be far out in space somewhere
between the moon and earth. Then they realized that the object
appeared to be in a stationary orbit some 80 to 100,000 miles from
earth.
This was highly improbable due to our not having the capabilities to
orbit such a deep space object or any other at this point in our
scientific development.
What could it be?
Our deepest concerns were
that the USSR had leaped far ahead of our expertise in booster
rocket capabilities and spacecraft design. A fact that was only a
few years off with the first satellite orbiting of Sputnik in 1957.
The acquiring of this mystery object would repeat itself several
times again in the coming years. Once during the bouncing of signals
off the moon. Another second reply was heard and determined to be
the same mystery object. So, the pioneering RCA Team gave the
mystery object a name: Lonesome George.
Is Lonesome George still out there? I have no clue at this time of
history. But it did cause the high ranking USAF officers at the Cape
and those at Patrick AFB, 20 miles South of the launch sites much
concern in their suspicions that it was a Soviet Space Weapon being
aimed at the USA.
Of course we know today that it was not.
