Use value represents the subjectively based desire a person has to acquire an object. If one is hungry, then the use value of food is greatly increased. However, just after one has satisfied their hunger, the use value of food is greatly diminished. Use value is dependent upon a worker bringing an object into existence by taking it out of nature and turning it into a consumable product. If the product were not available in a given society then it would have no use value.
