Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:
  • The top box shows each cables unique reference number, when and by whom it originally was sent, and what its initial classification was.

1. (SBU) Ambassador made reftel demarche February 26 to 
Foreign Affairs Secretary of State (Foreign Minister) Bala 
Garba Jahumpa, stressing Iran's failure to comply with UNSCR 
1737 and ongoing defiance of the international community over 
its nuclear activities.   Ambassador urged the GOTG's support 
for international efforts to dissuade Iran from its continued 
defiance and secure its cooperation with the IAEA and 
compliance with UNSCR 1737. 
 
2. (SBU) Jahumpa took Ambassador's presentation on board, but 
made no comment.   We will report any substantive GOTG 
response via septel.
