Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:
  • The top box shows each cables unique reference number, when and by whom it originally was sent, and what its initial classification was.

1. On 10 December, POLOFF delivered reftel demarche to Ambassador 
Patrice Cure, Head of Multilateral Affairs, Ministry of Foreign 
Affairs, and First Secretary Martine Young Kim Fat.  Ambassador Cure 
paid close attention to the points on a possible security vacuum in 
Somalia, noting Mauritius' growing concern with terrorism in light 
of a Mauritian CEO dying in the recent Mumbai attacks. 
 
2. In a follow-up telephone conversation on 12 December, First 
Secretary Young Kim Fat told POLOFF that her directorate is still 
awaiting input from other stakeholders and will contact Post next 
week with a response. Post will report any substantive response it 
receives.
