Understanding cables

(U) Pol/Econ chief October 2 delivered reftel demarche 
concerning WTO agriculture negotiations and geographical 
indications (GI) to MFA Director for International 
Organization Affairs Ghassan Shaikho.  Shaikho said that, as 
he had done with earlier demarches on GIs, he would pass the 
information to the Ministry of Commerce, which takes the lead 
on WTO issues.  We will report septel any substantive comment 
from MFA or Commerce.
