Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:
  • The top box shows each cables unique reference number, when and by whom it originally was sent, and what its initial classification was.

1. EmbOffs on May 25 delivered reftel demarche on the World 
Customs Organization (WCO) Framework of Standards to Ministry 
of Finance Director General of Customs Ali Ebrahim Al Mahmeed 
and MFA Director for International Organization Affairs 
Ghassan Shaikho. 
 
2. Al Mahmeed told EconOff May 30 that the Government of 
Bahrain had reviewed the Framework of Standards and that it 
would participate in the June 23-25 WCO council meetings in 
Brussels. Al Mahmeed said that Bahrain was inclined to 
support adoption of the Framework, but he would listen to all 
views expressed at the meetings.
