Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:
  • The top box shows each cables unique reference number, when and by whom it originally was sent, and what its initial classification was.

If you find meaningful or important information in a cable, please link directly to its unique reference number. 1. ON 26 MAY 2004, EMBASSY RECEIVED A TURKISH MINISTRY OF 
FOREIGN AFFAIRS (MFA) DIP NOTE (2004/ALGY/223961), WHICH 
CONTAINED A RESPONSE TO OUR INQUIRY FOR INFORMATION RELATED 
TO REF B HELICOPTER PARTS ORDER FOR BLUE LANTERN CASE NUMBER 
05-919744. 
 
 
2. THE MFA CONFIRMED THAT THE TURKISH LAND FORCES HAD ORDERED 
THE INVENTORIED PARTS OUTLINED IN THE PURCHASE ORDER 
DESCRIBED IN REF B FROM A COMPANY CALLED DEFENSE LOGISTICS 
AND AVIATION COMPANY. 
 
 
3. THE MFA ADDED THAT IN THEIR DIALOGUE WITH TURKISH LAND 
FORCES, "NO PRIOR NEGATIVE OPINION HAD BEEN FORMED" ABOUT THE 
DEFENSE LOGISTICS AND AVIATION COMPANY, SINCE THIS WAS THE 
FIRST INSTANCE OF THE TURKISH ARMED FORCES' ISSUING A 
PROCUREMENT TENDER THROUGH THIS COMPANY. 
 
 
4.  EMBASSY HAS NO OBJECTIONS TO APPROVAL OF THIS TRANSACTION.
