Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:
  • The top box shows each cables unique reference number, when and by whom it originally was sent, and what its initial classification was.

Regarding Blue Lantern case 05-879186, shortly after receipt 
of ref B, Embassy Blue Lantern officer submitted a written 
inquiry to the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).  In 
the interim Embassy has contacted the MFA twice, with 
reassurances that the investigation was on-going and their 
reply would be forthcoming.  We will continue to follow up 
with the MFA and will notify the Department (PM/DTCC) as soon 
as a response is received.
