Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:
  • The top box shows each cables unique reference number, when and by whom it originally was sent, and what its initial classification was.

STATUS REPORT FY 2008 
 
1. (U) Summary: On September 26, 2008 CDA signed six grant 
agreements totaling $40,000 for the Ambassador's Self Help 
Program for FY 2008.  Post has fully obligated all of the 
Ambassador's Special Self-Help Program funds in FY 2008. 
 
2.  (U) Project(s) summary and status as follows: 
 
A.  Project Number: SHF-8-696-01 
    Project Name: Bakery 
    Grantee: Rebero Orphan Center 
    Beneficiaries: 72 
    U.S. Contribution: $7,231 
    Date Obligated: September 26, 2008 
    Description: Funds will be used to purchase a new dough 
    mixer and kitchen supplies to expand the center's 
    bakery. 
 
B.  Project Number: SHF-8-696-02 
    Project Name:  Sewing workshop 
    Grantee:  Cooperative des Techniciens en Couture et 
    Tricotage (CTCTG) 
    Beneficiaries: 18 
    U.S. Contribution: $8,924 
    Date Obligated:  September 26, 2008 
    Description:  Funds will be used to buy new sewing 
    machines for a sewing workshop cooperative located in 
    Byumba North Rwanda. 
 
C.  Project Number: SHF-8-696-03 
    Project Name:  Bicycle repair project

    molds, refrigerator and other supplies for making 
    cheese.

    Project Name:  Flour mill 
    Grantee:  Association des Femmes Abahuje 
    Beneficiaries: 22 plus approximately 1,000 members of 
    the local community that will use the mill. 
    U.S. Contribution: $9,260

    Description:  Funds will be used to purchase a 
    community grain mill to mill sorghum and cassava.
