Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:
  • The top box shows each cables unique reference number, when and by whom it originally was sent, and what its initial classification was.

ΒΆ1.  Economic Officer delivered Reftel NOTMAR to MFA Chief of 
Maritime Affairs Cagatay Erciyes, and reftel NOTAM to MFA 
Chief of Aviation Affairs Bekir Uysal on March 20. Uysal 
asked if the U.S. could provide coordinates to more 
specifically define "Eastern Mediterranean Sea."  Both Uysal 
and Erciyes said they would immediately inform all relevant 
authorities in Turkey. NOTMAR and NOTAM were also delivered 
to the Turkish General Staff, Turkish Air Force Command, and 
Turkish Naval Forces Command by the Defense Attache's Office 
via normal military channels.
