Understanding cables
Every cable message consists of three parts:

  • The middle box contains the header information that is associated with the cable. It includes information about the receiver(s) as well as a general subject.
  • The bottom box presents the body of the cable. The opening can contain a more specific subject, references to other cables (browse by origin to find them) or additional comment. This is followed by the main contents of the cable: a summary, a collection of specific topics and a comment section.

ΒΆ1. Per reftel, on June 5 PolCouns delivered ref points to
Ali al-Ayed, Personal Assistant to the Foreign Minister.
PolCouns emphasized that the draft resolution on the
situation of workers in the Occupied Territories contains
subjects outside the mandate of the ILO and is an attempt to
politicize the body. He urged Jordan to vote against the
resolution on June 7. Ayed promised to pass our points to
the Foreign Minister and the Ministry of Labor. In addition,
on June 6 POLOFF also contacted the Ministry of Labor.
