Understanding cables

1.  Mission has received a note from the Permanent Mission 
of Germany to the United Nations requesting USG support for 
its candidature for re-election to the Commission on Narcotic 
Drugs for the period 2008-2011.  The elections will be held 
during the resumed organizational session of the Economic and 
Social Council (ECOSOC) in April/May 2007. 
 
2.  Mission will respond that careful consideration will be 
given by the United States to the candidacy of Germany.
