With the aid of their Swiss Army toothpick, Pierce and Lance overcome their guards and escape from the alien spaceship with convincing proof of Fermat's last theorem. Jim absconds with the funds and three of the Gibson Girls, but they get no farther than Doyle's Furnace, Ohio, before there is a falling out in which Nellie Gibson sprains her wrist.
