Harrison, Harry - Synopsis - Bill The Galactic Hero A satirical science fiction novel that sets out to explode SF cliches by the shuttleload, this is the story of Bill who was a peaceful farm boy until he was lured by the martial music of the Empire Space Corps. He is drugged and forced to enlist, but becomes the Corp's unlikeliest hero. I loved this book. I first read it when i was about 16 and thought it was one of the best books ever. A few months ago, I decided to give it another go to see how much my literary taste has changed. Not much, obviously. Although i found more holes in it than i did at 16, it was still a great read. Highly recommended.
