and then save them back to file.

KEYWORDS - Click on this menu item, then select General Information
to bring up a grid of planets, signs, houses and qualities. Click on
any topic to see keywords, meanings and other information regarding
the topic. Select Keyword System to see keyword information and the
techniques behind Max Heindel's keyword system of astrological
     interpretation.

PHILOSOPHY - Click on this menu item to see a list of articles
regarding the Rosicrucian philosophy. Select the subject(s) of
     interest.

HELP - This menu item allows you to display information on the various
     features in the program.

                                HOW DO I .....?

     1. How do I print out all the HELP files into one document?

Answer: From a DOS command line, type CD \RF_ASTRO. Hit <ENTER>.
This moves you to your RF_ASTRO directory. Type COPY *.HLP HELPFILE.
Hit <ENTER>. This creates a new file called HELPFILE, which is a
concatenation of all the RF_ASTRO help files. Type PRINT HELPFILE.
Hit <ENTER>. You may need to hit <ENTER> a second time if this is this
first time you have used the PRINT command. This will print out all
the help files. This will generate 30 to 35 pages of printout so be
sure to have enough paper for your printer.

     2. What do I adjust if my single or dual chartwheels are spitting out
lots of paper with only a single glyph on each sheet after the first?

Answer: If you have printout problems when printing a single or dual
chartwheel with the aspect grid, then please increment options #188
and/or #189 as needed so that the grid is contained on one page. You
may want (need) to decrement options #180 and/or #190 either along
with the above modifications or instead of them in order for your
printout to behave as it should. Every printer seems to be different,
so you may have to do some experimentation. Settle for the option
values that give the largest text in a centered area in the corner of
     the page.

     3. What do I do if my aspect grids on my chartwheel printouts are too
high or low on the page?

Answer: If your printed aspect grid is too high or too low on the
printed page, then change options #188 and #189 accordingly.

     4. How do I gather many transit interpretations for days at a time?

Answer: Calculate a chart and after the natal data appears in the DATA
window, hit the Esc key. This changes the focus to the main RF_ASTRO
window. Hit function key F8 to bring up the current transit
interpretations. Hit function key F2 (forward in time), F3 (backward
in time) or F4 (select any day) to get the day you want to start with.
Now hit function key F3 to back up a day. Click on Clear All Data in
the Data Window to clear the memory buffer. Click on OK. Now hit
function key F2 as many times as you want for days of transit
interpretations. When finished, click on Print Data to send your
accumulated data to your printer or click on File, then Save As to
save your accumulated data to a disk file.

     5. How do I save the chartwheel screen to the Windows clipboard for
     use in another program?

Answer: You may save the chartwheel screen to the Windows clipboard
for use in other programs by first displaying your desired chartwheel
on screen. Click the right uppermost box to make the chartwheel
window full-screen. Now, hold down the Alt key and press the Print
Screen key. The chartwheel is now saved in the clipboard and you may
paste it into another Windows application. I do this and then paste
the chartwheel into a paint program, convert the file to a .BMP file
and then use my chart as my Windows wallpaper.

     6. How do I get to (uncover) the main RF_ASTRO menu when the three
input screens (NATAL INPUT DATA, NAMES, and DIURNAL INPUT DATA) are
     being displayed?

Answer: Click the right mouse button on any blank area in the NATAL
INPUT DATA or DIURNAL INPUT DATA windows. This will uncover and
display the main RF_ASTRO menu from which you may change OPTIONS, go
to HELP, display KEYWORDS, and more.

     7. How do I get to (uncover) the main RF_ASTRO menu when the DATA or
     CHARTWHEEL windows are being displayed?

Answer: Click the right mouse button in either the DATA or CHARTWHEEL
windows OR hit the ESCAPE key when either window has the focus.

     8. How do I quickly run a chart without clicking on OK in the NATAL
     INPUT DATA window?

Answer: Click the left mouse button on any blank area in the DIURNAL
INPUT DATA window. This is the same as clicking on OK.

     9. How do I set my coordinates for data in the DIURNAL INPUT DATA
window? These coordinates appear when you uncheck the "Use Natal Data"
checkbox in the DIURNAL INPUT DATA window OR when you click on "NOW".

Answer: Go into OPTIONS from the main RF_ASTRO menu and change (edit)
options #18 - #24 for your location and time zone. Read OPTIONS
WINDOW under HELP for more information.

     10. How do I calculate two people's charts?

Answer: Manually enter the first person's data in the NATAL INPUT DATA
window or click on a name in the NAMES window. Now click on the "2nd
Person" checkbox in the DIURNAL INPUT DATA window to check it. Either
manually enter the second person's data in the DIURNAL INPUT DATA
window or click on a name in the NAMES window. Click on OK to
     calculate both charts.

     11. How do I save the data for someone?

Answer: Manually enter the person's data into the NATAL INPUT DATA
window. Once finalized, click on "Save To Disk". Select the
appropriate file in which you wish to save the data. Click on SELECT.
Only data in the NATAL INPUT DATA window can be saved to disk file.

     12. How do I move the program from one directory or one drive to
another? What do I do if I have moved the program and then get an
error message about not being able to find a file or a path?

Answer: To move the program, copy all files from one directory or
drive to the new directory/drive. After this, change the properties
for the program icon so Windows can find the program when you double-
click the icon. Then, for either question above, delete the
RF_ASTRO.INI file from the c:\windows directory. Re-start the program.

                                      TIPS

HINT 1: If you have printout problems when printing a single or dual
chartwheel with the aspect grid, then please increment options #188
and/or #189 as needed so that the grid is contained on one page. You
may want (need) to decrement options #180 and/or #190 either along
with the above modifications or instead of them in order for your
printout to be as it should. Every printer seems to be different, so
you may have to do some experimentation. Settle for the option values
that give the largest text in a centered area in the corner of the
     page.

HINT 2: If your printed aspect grid is too high or too low on the
printed page, then change options #188 and #189 accordingly.

HINT 3: If you need a way to print out all the help files using DOS,
     then do the following:

From a DOS command line, type CD \RF_ASTRO. Hit <ENTER>. This moves
you to your RF_ASTRO directory. Type COPY *.HLP HELPFILE. Hit
<ENTER>. This makes a new file called HELPFILE, which is a
concatenation of all the RF_ASTRO help files. Type PRINT HELPFILE.
Hit <ENTER>. You may need to hit <ENTER> a second time if this is this
first time you have used the PRINT command. This will print out all
the help files. This will generate 25 to 30 pages of printout, so be
sure to have lots of paper handy.

HINT 4: At certain weird times I've noticed that my printer prints the
chartwheel with the outer circle circumference inside the glyphs for
the planets. If this happens to you, then you must re-install your
Windows display driver. Pick a different screen resolution, install
it and re-start Windows, then change back to your original screen
resolution (if you want to), install it, and re-start Windows. The
problem seems to lie in Windows, not in RF_ASTRO. To change screen
     resolutions, see HINT 5 below.

HINT 5: For greater versatility, ease of use, and clearer, better
looking on-screen chartwheels, I recommend that you run RF_ASTRO using
a Windows resolution of 1024x768 or 800x600 instead of the default
640x480 resolution. By so doing, you will be able to see more
information on the screen at one time and the chartwheels will be
     crisper.

You may change the resolution under which Windows operates by
selecting Windows Setup from the Main window. Once in Windows Setup,
choose Options. Select Display and open its drop-down box. Choose
the new resolution setting from amongst the given choices. Windows
might ask you to insert a disk. Follow the instructions given on the
screen. After you finish changing settings, choose OK. You must re-
start Windows for the changes you have just made to become effective.

You may also change the Windows screen resolution by typing SETUP from
the DOS prompt when you are in the Windows sub-directory on your hard
drive (C:\WINDOWS>). Consult your Windows manual and/or your graphics
display card manual if you need more information.

If you change to a higher resolution, you might want to change certain
values for options #68 - #76. Here are some suggestions:

12 ;Opt #68 - Screen font size for text
14 ;Opt #69 - Screen font size for house cusp degrees
12 ;Opt #70 - Screen font size for house cusp sign
9 ;Opt #71 - Screen font size for house cusp minutes
15 ;Opt #72 - Screen font size for planet glyph
12 ;Opt #73 - Screen font size for planet degrees
11 ;Opt #74 - Screen font size for planet sign
9 ;Opt #75 - Screen font size for planet minutes
8 ;Opt #76 - Screen font size for planet retrograde

You can always go back to the original OPTIONS.OPT file by selecting
RESTORE DEFAULT SETTINGS from within the Options window.

HINT 6: I prefer saving my data to disk file rather than directly
printing the data from the program data window to the printer. When
the data buffer is large, the wait for readying the text for printout
can be excessive. The way around this is to keep the data buffer
relatively small by periodically clearing it (Clear all data) or by
saving the data in the buffer to a disk file, then printing that file
rather than printing the data directly to your printer using the Print
     data command.

HINT 7: I recommend you set your Windows Button Face color to gray. I
believe this gives the best looking forms and controls. If the control
and message form colors are not to your liking, you may change colors
by double clicking on CONTROL PANEL in MAIN. Double click on COLOR.
Click on Color Palette. From the Screen Element list box, select
Button Face. Click on the desired color (I prefer gray, the 6th box in
the 6th row of colors. If you want to permanently save your colors,
then click on Save Scheme and give your color scheme a name. Click on
     OK to quit.

HINT 8: RF_ASTRO was designed for you to see part of the chartwheel
window, the data window and the main RF_ASTRO window all at the same
time. This allows you to go from window to window with a single click
of the mouse. It is not necessary to close any of these three windows
to do this. If you are unable to do this, then I suggest you move your
main RF_ASTRO window to the top left corner of your display. Move your
data window just below it. Size it according to your preference. The
chartwheel window appears on the right side of the screen, thus
allowing you partial visibility of the other 2 windows. When you exit
RF_ASTRO, your window placements and sizes for the main RF_ASTRO and
data windows will be remembered and restored the next time you start
     RF_ASTRO.

                                  OPTIONS Help

This window allows you to change various program parameters used by
RF_ASTRO. Edit the text area as you would in any other Windows
     application.

QUIT - Click here to exit the program options window. Nothing is saved
when you click on this command button.

SAVE - Click on this command button to save any changes you have made
     to the options text area.

RESTORE DEFAULT SETTINGS - Click on this command button to restore the
default program options contained in the file called OPTIONS.MAS.
OPTIONS.MAS cannot be changed from within RF_ASTRO. You may change
this file outside of RF_ASTRO by using any standard text editor.

Most of the options are straight forward and easily understood. I
will attempt to clarify some that may not be self-evident.

OPTIONS 1 - 16. These options relate to the orbs used when displaying
aspects in the data window for all types of charts. Options #1 - #5
and #10 also specify the orb for the aspect lines that can be drawn in
the center of a single chartwheel (see option #47). Option #16 only
     applies to natal chart aspects.

OPTIONS 18 - 24. Set these options to your current time zone,
     longitude and latitude.

OPTION 27. Set this option to declare your default house system.

OPTION 28. Set this option to your preference as to whether you want
planets in the 3rd and 9th houses of the chartwheel display to read
left to right (0) or top to bottom (1). This option does not apply
when European chartwheels are selected for single chartwheels.

OPTION 30. Experiment with the proper setting here so that your
printer prints all it should on each page without giving extra form
     feeds.

OPTION 33. For the Part of Fortune only, set this option equal to 0
if you want the Part of Fortune always calculated as a day P.o.F., set
this option equal to 1 if you want the Part of Fortune always
calculated as a night P.o.F., and set this option equal to 2 if you
want the Part of Fortune calculated according to whether the chart is
a day chart or a night chart. This option does NOT affect the Part of
     Spirit.

OPTION 45. Experiment with the proper setting here so that your
printer prints all it should on each page without giving extra form
feeds when printing from a file that has previously been saved.

OPTION 47. Single wheel chartwheels will have aspect lines drawn in
the center of the wheel if this option is set to a 1.

OPTION 48. The RF_ASTRO title screen will not be displayed if this
option is set equal to 0.

OPTIONS 55 - 58. These options are used in synastry orb calculations.

OPTIONS 60 - 67. These options allow you to set the spacing between
the glyphs and numerals that are displayed in the chartwheel window or
printed to your printer. Some of you will want less spacing and some
     will want greater spacing. Experiment.

OPTIONS 68 - 77. These options specify the font size of various
parameters when displaying data on screen.

OPTIONS 78 - 87. These options specify the font size of various
parameters when printing to your printer.

OPTIONS 88 - 102. These options specify the colors used for the
various items found on the screen chartwheel display. Set the color
option(s) according to the following table.

COLOR CODE COLOR CODE COLOR CODE
     ----- ---- ----- ---- ----- ----
     Black 0 Blue 1 Green 2
     Cyan 3 Red 4 Magenta 5
     Yellow 6 White 7 Gray 8
Lt. Blue 9 Lt. Green 10 Lt. Cyan 11
Lt. Red 12 Lt. Magenta 13 Lt. Yellow 14
     Bright White 15

OPTIONS 103 - 116. These options specify the colors used for full
page color chartwheel printing on a color printer. Reference the color
     table above.

OPTION 117. This option allows you to specify how many characters can
be printed on a line before the print size changes to 12 cpi
(characters per inch) rather than 10 cpi. The default is 79, meaning
80 characters or more on one line causes the printer to change to 12
cpi format. If you are using A4 paper rather than 8.5" x 11", then I
recommend setting this value to 75 or 76. Experiment.

OPTION 120. This option controls the offset from the top of the page
that the natal data (left side top) gets printed on a chartwheel.
Some printers do not print the top line of data unless an offset is
provided, hence the need for this option.

OPTION 121. This option controls the offset from the top of the page
that your personalized data (right side top) gets printed on a
     chartwheel.

OPTION 174. Set this option equal to 1 if you want your personalized
message in the PERSONAL.NAM file printed on your chartwheel. Set this
option equal to 0 if you do NOT want your personalized message printed
     on your chartwheel.

NOTE!!: You must personally change the file called PERSONAL.NAM to
reflect the message you want printed. Edit this file using any text
editor such as NOTEPAD or EDIT. Be sure to save the file in ASCII
     text format.

OPTION 175. Sets printer font size for your personalized message.

OPTION 176. Sets printer color for your personalized message.

OPTION 177. Sets right margin for your personalized message.

OPTION 178. Set this option equal to 1 if you want an aspect grid on
your printed chartwheel. The grid will reflect the same orbs and
aspects used when displaying the aspects in the ASPECTS window when
viewing a chartwheel on the screen. Set this option equal to 0 if you
do not want an aspect grid on your printed chartwheel.

OPTION 179. Sets right margin for your printed aspect grid, if used.

OPTION 180. Sets font size for your single chartwheel printed aspect
     grid, if used.

OPTION 181. Sets the color for a conjunction in your printed aspect
     grid, if used.

OPTION 182. Sets the color for a sextile and trine in your printed
     aspect grid, if used.

OPTION 183. Sets the color for a square and opposition in your printed
     aspect grid, if used.

OPTION 184. Sets the color for a quincunx (inconjunct) in your printed
     aspect grid, if used.

OPTION 185. Sets the color for a semi-square and sesquisquare in your
     printed aspect grid, if used.

OPTION 186. Sets the color for a quintile and bi-quintile in your
     printed aspect grid, if used.

OPTION 187. Sets the color for all other aspects (minor) in your
     printed aspect grid, if used.

NOTE: Reference the color table shown above for options #88 - #102.

NOTE: Set the aspect color to 15 if you do not want the aspect
     printed.

OPTION 188. Sets bottom margin for your single chartwheel printed
aspect grid, if used. Using my equipment, a setting of 15 works well
for a dot matrix printer and 13 works well for a laser printer. Some
experimentation may be needed using your own printer.

OPTION 189. Sets bottom margin for your dual chartwheel printed aspect
grid, if used. Using my equipment, a setting of 13 works well for a
dot matrix printer and 11 works well for a laser printer. Some
experimentation may be needed using your own printer.

OPTION 190. Sets font size for your dual chartwheel printed aspect
     grid, if used.

OPTION 191. Sets bottom margin for your printed dual or triple
     chartwheel birth/event data.

OPTIONS 193 - 196. These options control the spacing between the
planetary minute digits of planets in houses 3 or 4 to 8 or 9,
depending on other settings, in single or dual chartwheels for screen
and printer. It is unlikely that you will ever have to change these
options, so rather than confuse you completely, let me just say, do
not change these options unless you increase the settings for options
#75 or #85 and notice that you don't like the spacing between minute
digits for the planets in the right side of the wheel.

OPTION 199. This option specifies whether or not you want triple
chartwheels printed with planetary degrees AND minutes. A value of 1
means yes and a value of 0 means only planetary degrees will be
     printed.

OPTIONS 200 - 204. If option #199 is set equal to 1, then these
options specify the font size of various parameters when printing a
     triple chartwheel to your printer.

OPTIONS 205 - 206. These options control how much additional radius
is added for planets in houses 3 or 4 to 8 or 9, depending on the
setting of option #28, when a triple chartwheel is printed with
planetary degrees AND minutes (option #199 set equal to 1). Option
#205 controls the outer wheel radius increment and option #206
controls the middle wheel radius increment.

OPTION 208. Set this option to a value of 1 if you want to use Max
Heindel's orbs (major aspects only) - 8 degrees for the Sun and Moon,
6 degrees for the other planets and 3 degrees for the conjunction with
the Moon's Nodes. Set this option to a value of 0 if you want
     customizable orbs.

OPTION 209. Set this option to a value of 0 if you want the initial
chartwheel window to be displayed almost full-screen upon chartwheel
display, regardless of previous settings. After resizing the chart
window, it will continue to remain that size until changed again or
until the program is restarted from the beginning. Set this option to
a value of 1 if you want the chartwheel window sized to the last size
and shape you adjusted it to initially.

OPTION 210. Set this option equal to 1 if you want to automatically
calculate and display a NOW chart upon program startup. Set this
option equal to 0 if you do not want the automatically calculated
     chart.

OPTION 211. Set this option equal to 1 if you want the print data
buffer automatically cleared after the initial DATA WINDOW natal data
is displayed after calculating a new chart. Set this option equal to
0 if you do not want the print data buffer automatically cleared.

OPTION 212. Set this option equal to 1 if you want the progressed MC
to be calculated using the difference in sidereal time from one day to
the next. Set this option equal to 0 if you want the progressed MC to
be calculated with the same distance movement from birth as the
progressed Sun has moved from birth (its natal position).

Feel free to experiment with different options settings. You cannot do
any harm by changing them all around. You can always go back to the
default values at any time if you hopelessly change things beyond
     comprehension.

                             NATAL INPUT DATA Help

This window contains the birth data of the person or event for which
you will calculate a natal chart. In addition, you may also calculate
a 21 day ephemeris starting at the date shown on this form. You may
edit any data in any text box, including the name, using the normal
Windows editing techniques. Click on AM or PM, East or West, and North
or South to change these parameters. You will get an error message if
you have a minus time zone entry less than -2 with a Western longitude
when you click on OK to start calculations.

Clicking the right mouse button on a blank area in the NATAL INPUT
DATA window changes the focus to the RF_ASTRO window.

Do NOT use a comma in the name text box. Commas are NOT allowed.

SAVE TO DISK - Click on this command button to save the displayed
birth or event data in a data file for future reference. You will be
given the choice of where you want to save this data. The data will be
saved in your selected file and it will appear in the names window
when that file is the currently selected file.

If the current name in the natal input data window matches a name in
your selected data file, then you will be asked whether or not you
want the old data overwritten by the new data. If you answer yes, then
the old data will be erased and the new data will take its place. If
you answer no, then the current data will be appended to your selected
     data file.

EPHEMERIS - Click on this command button to generate a 21 day
ephemeris starting at the date you have entered on this form. You will
be given the choice of a midnight ephemeris or a noon ephemeris. The
ephemeris shows the longitudes and declinations of the Sun, the Moon
and the 8 planets. Retrogrades are not shown as they are self evident.

NOW - Click on this command button to change the input data to the
current moment in time, as taken from your computer's internal clock.
This is useful for horary astrology work. The time zone, longitude
and latitude data are taken from options #18 - #24 in the program
options file. Edit that file if you want to make your current location
     data standard.

OK - Click on this command button to start the calculations for the
     data in the form.

TZ HELP - Click on this box if you want a list of world time zones.
Click on the time zone desired and that time zone data will be entered
into the time zone text box. At the same time, the East/West longitude
designation will be changed, if necessary.

ATLAS - Click on this box if you want to run the ACS Atlas program
(DOS version) for finding longitudes, latitudes and time zones. Run
the Atlas program the way you normally would and, thereafter, just
follow the prompts. The first time you run the ACS Atlas program from
RF_ASTRO, you must tell RF_ASTRO where the ATLAS.EXE executable file
is. Follow the prompts and imitate the data entry examples.

                                   NAMES Help

The NAMES window displays all the people whose birth data you have on
file. Single click on a person's name to see their birth data appear
on the Diurnal Input Data form if 2nd Person is checked on that form
or, if not, their birth data will appear on the Natal Input Data form.
By double clicking on a person's name, with 2nd Person unchecked on
the Diurnal Input Data form, you will begin the calculations for that
     person.

If there are exact duplicate names in the list, then you must properly
distinguish each name with a different designation, such as Bette Ford
1, Bette Ford 2, Bette Ford 3. This is because the data associated
with the first name found in the list will be called up no matter
which version of the name you click on. I recommend all names in a
     particular list be made unique.

Do not delete the file called NAMES.FIL under any circumstances.

Do NOT use a comma in the name text box. Commas are not allowed.

CHANGE LIST - Click on this command button to choose a new list of
     names to view.

EDIT THIS LIST - Click on this command button to edit the names and
data contained in the current names file.

LOCK LIST - If this box is unchecked when you click on INPUT in the
main RF_ASTRO menu, then your original natal input data will return in
the natal input data window and the names list will be displayed from
the beginning with no selection highlighted. If this box is checked
when you click on INPUT in the main RF_ASTRO menu, then the data for
the person or event that is highlighted in the NAMES window will
appear in the natal input data window. If no name was highlighted,
then the first person's name will automatically be highlighted and
that person's data will appear in the natal input data window. This
option gives you the flexibility to return to the names list where you
last highlighted it, and thus restore that person's birth data, or to
always restore the natal data you started the last chart with and with
the NAMES display list box initialized to the beginning. Experiment
with both settings until you get the feel for it.

Change the data for diurnal month, day or year as you would with any
Windows text box. Repeat for the other text boxes shown. Click on AM
or PM, East or West longitude, and North or South latitude. You will
get an error message if you have a minus time zone entry less than -2
with a Western longitude when you click on OK to start calculations.

Clicking the left mouse button on a blank area in the DIURNAL INPUT
     DATA window starts chart calculations.

Clicking the right mouse button on a blank area in the DIURNAL INPUT
DATA window changes the focus to the RF_ASTRO window.

USE NATAL DATA - Check this box if you desire the natal person's birth
hour and time, birth time zone, birth longitude and birth latitude to
be displayed in the text boxes. Uncheck this box if you want the
current time displayed along with the time zone, longitude and
latitude data you have set in the options file, options #18 - #24.
Unchecking this box is useful when doing progressions or solar and
lunar returns, etc. when your location or place of residence is
different than your place of birth.

2nd PERSON - By leaving this box unchecked, clicking on a name in the
NAMES window causes that person's birth data to appear in the Natal
Input Data window. Check this box if you want the birth data for the
person you select in the NAMES window to appear on this diurnal input
data form. Once you have selected a second name, click OK on the natal
input data window to start calculations for both people. This allows
you to calculate synastry chart data and chartwheels.

                                   DATA Help

This window displays the data that you have selected. Data displayed
in this window may be saved to file or sent to your printer.

If you hit the Esc key when the DATA window has the focus, then the
focus will be changed to the RF_ASTRO window. Clicking the right mouse
button on the DATA window has the same effect.

FILE - Selecting this menu item allows you to SAVE the entire
contents of the data buffer to a file of your choice. You may either
SAVE the file to the last selected file or choose a different file. If
you choose a different file, then a SAVE AS box will appear allowing
you to choose the drive, directory and file name of where to save the
data. You may change any of these parameters. The default file name
is the first name of the person.DOC. Change this to whatever name you
wish using the usual DOS filename guidelines. If you change your mind
about saving the data, simply click on the CANCEL command button to
exit, thus not saving the data in the data buffer.

FONT - Click on this menu item in order to enlarge or shrink the font
size of the text in this window. You may also enable the bold and/or
italic properties of the font. Your settings will be saved when you
     exit RF_ASTRO.

CLEAR ALL DATA - All data written to the DATA window is accumulated in
a data buffer. Select this menu option to clear the buffer of all its
contents. This is useful if you have displayed a lot of data and are
no longer interested in saving it, storing it or printing it. A
message box appears after you select this item notifying you of your
     actions.

PRINT PAGE - Select this menu item to print the contents of what is
displayed in the data window, not the accumulated contents in the data
buffer. A text box will appear allowing you to edit the data before
you print it to your printer.

PRINT DATA - Selecting this menu item allows you to print the entire
accumulated contents of the data buffer since this chart was
calculated or since you last cleared the data buffer. You will be
shown a text box containing the contents of the data buffer. You may
edit the contents of this text box before you print to printer. This
allows you to weed out data you don't particularly care about.

MORE - This menu item appears if you have chosen to calculate an
ephemeris or if you are displaying transit interpretations. Selecting
this item allows you to generate an additional 21 days of ephemeris
data forward into the future or backward into the past or the next
day's or previous day's transit data. When viewing transit
interpretations, another menu item named NEW DATE allows you to change
     the date for the interpretations.

                                CHARTWHEELS Help

This window displays single, dual or triple chartwheels using various
     combinations of data.

If you hit the Esc key when the CHARTWHEELS window has the focus, then
the focus will be changed to the RF_ASTRO window. This becomes a fast
way to get to other program data or wheel information. Clicking the
right mouse button on the CHARTWHEELS window has the same effect.

ASCII - Click on this menu item in order to draw an ASCII chartwheel
on the data window. The ASCII chart layout depicts the horoscope in a
form that is suitable for printing or saving to file in order to
upload to a computer bulletin board or to an on-line service such as
CompuServe or the Internet. This menu item is only available for
     single chartwheels.

ASPECTS - Click on this menu item to see a list of aspects for the
chartwheel you are viewing. There are many different sets of aspect
files allowing you to set different orbs for different types of
chartwheels. The glyphs for the aspects are standard except for 'Q' =
     quintile (72 degrees), 'Bq' = bi-quintile (144 degrees), 'S' = septile
     (51.42857 degrees), 'D' = decile (or semi-quintile, 36 degrees) and
'd' = tredecile (108 degrees). You cannot print this list of aspects
to your printer. See below under PRINT for more information on
     printing an aspect grid.

DUPLICATE - Select this menu item to reproduce the currently
displayed chartwheel in another window. This will allow you to view
two different chartwheels side by side at the same time.

ORBS - Select this menu item in order to pick a different orb file for
displayed chartwheel aspects or to edit the settings of the current
orb file. Modifying the current orbs file will automatically list the
     chartwheel aspects.

PRINT - Select this menu item to print the displayed chartwheel to
your printer. You may choose a full page or half page printout.
RF_ASTRO will use the printer parameters for whatever printer you have
told Windows you have installed. See PRINTERS under CONTROL PANEL.

NOTE: Options #178 - #190 allow you to set the various parameters
associated with printing an aspect grid on the chartwheel.

SWITCH - If you are displaying a dual synastry chartwheel, then this
menu item allows you to switch between one person's houses and the
others, thus enabling you to see how each person's planets fit into
the houses of the other person's chart.

TYPE - Select this menu item in order to choose what type of single
chartwheel you want to view, American or European.

                              PLANETARY HOURS Help

With respect to planetary hours, a day starts at sunrise. The first
hour of any day is ruled by the ruler of that day (Sun for Sunday,
Moon for Monday, Mars for Tuesday, Mercury for Wednesday, Jupiter for
Thursday, Venus for Friday and Saturn for Saturday). There are 12
planetary hours between sunrise and sunset. Each planetary hour is
equal in length to (sunset time - sunrise time) divided by 12. This
means that some planetary hours are less than an hour clock time and
some planetary hours are greater than an hour clock time. The same
principles apply to the planetary hours between sunset and sunrise the
next day except that each nocturnal planetary hour is equal in length
to (sunset time - next day's sunrise time) divided by 12.

One thing to remember: if the time you are interested in is before
sunrise AND past midnight of the civil day, then you must go to the
previous civil day and look for the proper planetary hour ruler.

Question: What is the planetary hour ruler on 03 Feb 1995 at 3:38 a.m.
     (TZ = 6) at 87W58, 42N01? Answer: Since sunrise is at 7:08 a.m. on
03 Feb 1995 and the time we are interested in is before sunrise (3:38
a.m.) AND after the civil day changed at 12 midnight, we must go back
a day, to Thursday, 02 Feb 1995 to find the planetary hour ruler. In
this case, it is Jupiter, as his hour started at 3:37 a.m.

This window displays the planetary hours for the date shown at the top
of the form. By clicking on a planet name, you may bring up a window
of keywords for that planet. This gives you an idea of what kind of
activities might be appropriate for that time period.

NOTE: If the latitude you have set is too extreme (higher than about
66 degrees or so), it may not be possible to calculate the sunrise
and/or sunset times. Calculations for these extreme latitudes can take
a long time. Please be patient. If the program cannot find the correct
sunrise and/or sunset times, you will be given a warning message and
the corresponding sunrise or sunset time will be set to midnight
     (midnight sun).

CLOSE - Click on this command button to close the window.

FORWARD - Click on this command button to advance to the next day.

BACKWARD - Click on this command button to go back one day.

WRITE TO DATA WINDOW - Click on this command button to write the
displayed day's planetary hour data to the DATA window along with the
data for the next two days. Repeat this action to accumulate many
days of planetary hour data into the data buffer for review or
     printing to file or printer.

                               FILE TO PRINT Help

                          OUR PHILOSOPHY OF ASTROLOGY

Astrology is the study of the effects of planetary forces upon man. It
is not fortune telling. It is one of the best methods for man to learn
about who he is, where he came from and where he is going. Astrology
reveals CHARACTER and character is destiny. If man can change his
character, then man will have changed his destiny. The main uses of
astrology are diagnosis of health and sickness, character analysis,
vocational guidance, analysis of children's horoscopes so as to give
parents a better idea as to how best to raise their children, and
analysis of the compatibilities between people.

Astrology does not show anything but tendencies. A man can rule his
stars by exerting his will. If a man decides to flow with the tide of
life, then the tendencies indicated in the birth chart will at some
time have their effect. The one thing a birth chart does not show is
the WILL of the individual and how he may exert it. The matter of
exercising free will is left entirely up to the individual. The wise
man rules his stars, the fool is ruled by them. Astrology forewarns
and being forewarned, a man is thus forearmed to better cope with the
     struggles of life.

Remember that good or so-called evil configurations are not the result
of chance or luck, but are the product of our own past acts - the
horoscope shows what we have earned by our past living and therefore
what we are entitled to in the present life. What we lack in this life
can be gained in the future by applying ourselves to the task at hand.
The stars IMPEL but do not COMPEL. As Goethe, the great mystic, said,
"From every power that holds the world in chains, Man frees himself
     when self-control he gains."

The Law of Consequence ("Whatsoever a man sows, that he shall also
reap") works in harmony with the planets. The spirit is born into the
physical world at that opportune time when the Law and the planets may
operate in harmony with each other. The birth of an Ego is so timed by
the Lords of Destiny, that the horoscope, which is the clock of
destiny, registers the kind of debts which the Ego has incurred in its
previous lives, and the time when these debts come to fruition, when
the harvest from the seeds which have been sown must be garnered.
However, the law of destiny is not a blind law, for it may be modified
to a certain degree in proportion to the amount of will power awakened
and utilized by the Ego. "For be not deceived, God is not mocked. The
mills of the gods grind exceedingly slow, but they grind exceedingly
     fine."

There are three factors which bring to us the mystic message of the
stars - the houses, the signs and the planets. Each house represents a
department of life, the signs are divisions of the heavens which by
their placement relative to the houses indicate our basic temperament
and attitude towards life, and the planets are the messengers of God
which by their motion through the houses and signs bring to us the
opportunities for soul growth which we need for our individual
development. Think of the planets as representing the players in a
play. The signs, then, would describe the role that each player has
and how he expresses his character, the houses represent the various
settings of the play and the angular relationships between the
planets, the aspects, represent the plot of the play. Each planet has
a characteristic energy. That energy can be expressed either
positively or negatively. The way that energy is expressed is
determined by the aspects of the other planets to that particular
     planet.

The horoscope shows tendencies only. It is a matter for you to
determine how any planetary position will work itself out. That will
be determined by the use you make of your own WILLPOWER.
