1820's Flow Blue Plate picturing Lafayette visiting Brother George Washington's Grave

This wonderful example of historical American Staffordshire transferware by Enoch Wood & Sons is titled ‘Lafayette At Washington’s Tomb’ and dates circa 1820. The manufacturer’s mark does not appear on the plate, however, this plate is pictured on page 23 of the reference book titled ‘Historical Staffordshire:  American Patriots & Views’ by Jeffrey B. Snyder and published by Schiffer Publishing Ltd.  These American Staffordshire pieces include scenes of General Lafayette at President Washington’s tomb, New York City Hall, the Boston State House, Mount Vernon, and various landscapes (see last photo). These pieces were acquired from a Houston, Texas estate.  The Lafayette plate does have a small chip between 1 and 2 o'clock (see arrow in second photo).
