2006 VERNAL
EQUINOX

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
On the Day of the Moon, March 20, 2006 e.v., in Anno IVxiv (102) in the New Aeon of Horus, a rite was performed by Frater Achad AL in the evening Hour of the Sun to commemorate the Vernal Equinox on behalf of the members of the Thelemic Order of the Golden Dawn. May the energies of Sol in Aries and those which follow in this new Zodiacal year strengthen and inspire you in the Great Work in the most beneficial, powerful and correct way.
The auguries received during the rite were as follows:
Word for the Equinox received from Liber Legis: “found” from II:3 -- “In the sphere I am everywhere the centre, as she, the circumference, is nowhere found.”
See “Gematria” below.
Tarot Card: Atu XIII – “Death”. This is a reference to Death in the occult sense, to transformation and regeneration, and to the cycle of life, death and resurrection. The Atu is attributed to the Zodiacal sign of Scorpio, which is ruled by Mars and Pluto, and in which Uranus is exalted in its greatest manifestation. The Decans of the Sign are Mars, the Sun and Venus. Scorpio is the fixed sign of Water, and is feminine in gender. All these hint at the nature of the current. Scorpio represents the Serpent Power, or Kundalini, which is awakened in the Magician and directed in magickal works. The Sign corresponds with the Eighth House of Heaven which concerns death, personal initiation and sexual nature (and energy). The Sign is attributed to the Path on the Tree of Life leading from Tiphareth to Netzach, which shows Sol acting through Scorpio upon Venus. Atu XIII is descriptive of a liberating process, of the lower moving to the higher, in which Nature refreshes itself. In life, we observe that Nature breaks down aggregates (of matter) over time. Thus, we see a skeleton in the Atu, as a reference to the human body, decaying even unto death, and to Saturn, matter and time. The Atu also references the elemental nature of things which remains unchanged by the ordinary operations of Nature, and which provides structure for life. The Atu describes a flow from life to death, from matter to Spirit. This is inevitable. Here, we are given the symbols of the scorpion, the serpent and eagle to illustrate the point. The scorpion represents matter resorting to destruction or transformation when the pressures become too much. The serpent (like the fish) is a symbol of resurrection or reincarnation. Finally, the eagle represents spiritual exaltation above solid matter. Now, from a higher perspective, consider that death or destruction in Assiah may be illusory, and is merely change or transformation. Further, contrast Atu XIII with Atu XII, the Hanged Man, which is the next following Key of the Tarot where the transmuting power of Spirit is working downwards (versus upwards in Atu XIII). Liberation may be found in the occult meanings of these Keys which, when understood, tend to result in a change in perspective from a personal to a more universal viewpoint. Further, they may assist you in shaping yourself (through the process of cellular regeneration) and your environment by proper application of the Serpent Power, through imagery and expressions of Will. The colors are green-blue, dull brown, very dark brown and indigo-brown. The magickal title of this Atu is The Child of the Great Transformers, Lord of the Gates of Death. Atu XIII is a powerful symbol of the 93 Current and the Great Work in this New Aeon of Horus.
Yi King: The 46th Hexagram (Sheng/Pushing Upward) changing to the 18th Hexagram (Ku/Work on What Has Been Spoiled). An analysis of each follows.
The 46th Hexagram (Sheng/Pushing Upward):
Upward growth, through effort and time. Success associated with effort of
the Will. Progress and expansion. Vertical ascent, directly up, from low to
high. We start low, and progress is not easy but it is lasting. What is
willed is done. One has great success in this process, not by violence, but
by being humble and adaptable. Although we are swept along in time,
assertion of Will is necessary for progress. Appeal to the Most High. This
is given as a direction in the Hexagram, not as a suggestion. Don’t fear,
when your goals are in accordance with the Law. Make the most of your
conditions. They are symbols given to you for a reason. Be gentle, devoted
and thoughtful in your work. Take small steps, one at a time, adapting as
you go, but persevere and, in the process, climb on high, yea, climb on
high! This Hexagram elaborates on a way to approach the process described in
Atu XIII. It further hints at true initiation, where, after the aspirant
reaching up in Atu XIII, Spirit reaches down to redeem as symbolized by Atu
XII.
The changing line is a 6 in the sixth place, which suggests that pushing
blindly causes delusion and exhaustion. When things don’t seem right or you
seem lost, hold fast and rest until you find your way. Be ever mindful of
this, and be conscientious and consistent in your approach to the work.
The 18th Hexagram (Ku/Work on What Has Been Spoiled):
This Hexagram indicates that, when there is decay and stagnation, the
conditions demand removal of the cause. Deliberation is critical in the
process. The conditions are symbols given to assist you in finding your way.
This decay is not necessarily permanent or unalterable. Make good what has
spoiled in your own life. Avoid inner weakness, irresolute drifting and
inaction. This requires effort, or expressions of Will, as suggested in the
46th Hexagram. Don’t retract from work or danger. When you see the way,
embrace it freely and energetically. However, it is necessary to first find
the causes of any corruption. Focus on inner conditions. Be cautious before
you start. Enter into the new way safely, and be cautious as you proceed.
The trend is upwards, as described in Atu XIII and the 46th Hexagram.
Decisiveness and energy make for new beginnings, and the end of indifference
and inertia which lead to decay. This is a challenge to improve and attain,
and to continually undertake to do so. It is also a call for human freedom
and liberation. Deal with decay the best you can, as you encounter it, and
stir and strengthen your connection with Spirit in the process. Change or
adapt your attitudes and views as necessary. Invoke the Light. Bring order
to your Sphere as you go on your way. This is the process of regeneration,
referred to in Atu XIII, which can lead to redemption. Your work is for you,
those you love and the Universe. It is the most important work of your life.
Invoke Hadit, joyously foster Spirit within, let the Light shine, and be
nourished in the work. This Hexagram also relates to springtime, which is a
time for new beginnings.
Gematria:
Under the Hebrew system, “found” (Peh (80), Ayin (70), Vau (6), Nun (50),
Daleth (4)) has a value of 210, which equals: BChR, meaning choice; BRCh,
meaning pass on, fly; GZR, meaning to decide, determine; DVR, meaning to
dwell, circle, cycle, generation; HRH, meaning to conceive; ChBR, meaning a
joining of words, incantations, to conjoin, a brother; ChRB, meaning a
sword, which is the Weapon of Hoor; NOX (Nun, Ayin, Tzaddi), which is the
Word of Hoor and the Key of the Abyss; OMPEHDA(H), see Liber Legis III:54,
to explode; and ABRAHA, the Lord of the Adepts. We also recommend that you
review the construction of the word, in Hebrew letters with their numerical
correspondences as indicated above, as well as the construction of the
number 210, for further insights.
Under our English system (see the T.·.G.·.D.·. paper on the English Qabalah),
“found” has a value of 360, which equals: Aiwaz; Word; Vow; Battle (perhaps
a reference to the Great Work of the Adeptus Major); Kings (an English
translation of the Angelic Choir Name for Tiphareth, the Melekim); Mingle;
Pelican (a symbol of the work of an Adept ); Saladin; Teacher; Nakhiel (the
Intelligence of the Sun); Inner; Order; Holy; Diamond; Pure; Desire; Pray;
Hymm; Khut; Pekht; Pingala; Prajna (which is the Serpent Power); and Ashram.
Also consider 360 as (6x6x10) and (120x3).
In conclusion, you may find that the auguries, when read together, provide
timely and pointed guidance to be used over the next six months. We
recommend that you meditate on these, to determine how best to use this
information in your Great Work. May you be so inspired, and use these gifts
wisely and well.
May the blessings of the Most High be upon you!
Love is the law, love under will.
Yours in the Great Work,
Frater Achad AL
