UDAD, AOUDAD Or AUDAD, the Moorish name of the See also:Barbary See also:sheep, or arui, Ovis (Ammotragus) lervia, the only See also:wild sheep found in See also:Africa, where it inhabits all the See also:mountain ranges of the See also:north, descending to the eastward far into the See also:heart of the See also:Sudan. The ttdad is distinguished by the abundant See also:hair on the See also:throat and fore-quarters of the rams, and the length of the tail. In the See also:absence of See also:face-glands and in the structure of the horns the See also:species approximates to the goats. The " See also:lion-coloured " coat approximates to the See also:hue of the See also:limestone rocks on which these sheep dwell.
