William's younger See also:brother, was brought up as an engraver, and first appears as an exhibitor in 1792. A few years later he went to the Cape and travelled into the interior of See also:Africa, with his sketching materials in his See also:haversack. The drawings he made there were published, after his return, in his See also:African Scenery. He did not See also:rest See also:long at See also:home, but See also:left for See also:Ceylon in 18o6, where he spent the remaining years of his See also:life, See also:publishing The Scenery, Animals and Natives of Ceylon.
