PONDO , a Kaffir See also:

people who have given their name to Pondoland, the See also:country comprising much of the seaboard of See also:Kaffraria, Cape See also:province, immediately to the See also:south-See also:west of See also:Natal. The Pondo, who number about 200,000, are divided into several tribal See also:groups, but the native See also:government, since the See also:annexation of the country to Cape See also:Colony in 1894, has been subject to the See also:control of the colonial authorities.
