He was called to the Comedie Fran9aise in 1815, and was received societaire in 1817. A small, active See also:man, with See also:mobile and expressive features and See also:quick, See also:nervous gestures, he was noted as the rascally servant in such plays as Le See also:Barbier de See also:Seville and See also:Les Fourberies de Scapin. His son, Louts See also:MARTIAL BARIZAIN (1809-1883), also called Monrose, was also an actor. He succeeded See also:Samson as See also:professor at the See also:Conservatoire in 1866.
