His See also:chief See also:works were Theologische Encyklopadie and Methodologie (1837) and See also:Die christliche Ethik (1842, Eng. trans. 1868). He died on the 5th of See also:September 1879, having, a few years earlier, written an autobiography under the See also:title Bruchstiicke aus dem Leben eines siiddeutschen Theologen.
