early sculptor, who worked at See also:Athens in the See also:middle of the 6th See also:century B.C. We are told that he made an See also:image of See also:Athena dedicated by See also:Callias the contemporary of Pisistratus at Athens about 564 B.C. An inscription bearing his name has been found at Athens, written in Ionian See also:dialect. The tradition which made him a See also:pupil of See also:Daedalus is apparently misleading, since Daedalus had no connexion with Ionic See also:art.
