CORRY , a See also:

city of See also:Erie See also:county, See also:Pennsylvania, U.S.A., 37 M. S.E. of Erie, in the N.W. See also:part of the See also:state, at an See also:elevation of about 1430 ft. Pop. (189o) 5697; (1900) 5369 (671 See also:foreign-See also:born); (1910) 5991. It is served by the Erie and the Pennsylvania See also:railways. Corry is situated in the midst of a See also:fine farming region, which is See also:rich in See also:petroleum and natural See also:gas, and is widely known for its See also:mineral springs. One mile W. of the city is a state See also:fish hatchery, and there are fine See also:trout streams in the neighbourhood. Among the city's manufactures are See also:steel, engines, locomotives, radiators, shovels, bricks, See also:flour, See also:furniture and See also:leather. Corry was settled in r86o, and was incorporated as a See also:borough in 1863 and as a city in 1866.
